I’m from Puerto Rico (born & riased until 1984, when I went off to college in N.H.), so I am, of course, very supportive of our ‘Puertorriqueña’ girls.
The Puerto Rican contestant this year looks very much American - ‘Gringa’ - or from a Nordic country. She’s gorgeous, and I wish her all the best luck on Monday night!

By the way, I once won a pageant in Puerto Rico — I was Miss Adjuntas Coffee 1982! SERIOUSLY!
Adjuntas is a coffee town in the mountains of southwest Puerto Rico... my grandmother was born there in 1912 and still visits the Coffee Festival every year with my father. They now live in Old San Juan.
