We Don't Need Men But It Takes a Village

I'm always amazed at the liberal mind's ability to hold mutually exclusive thoughts. I've long ago discovered that consistency isn't the hallmark of the liberal mind; it's emotion.

I was reminded of this yesterday when Jennifer Aniston was quoted as saying that women don't need men anymore.

“Women are realizing more and more that you don’t have to settle, they don’t have to fiddle with a man to have that child,” said Aniston. “They are realizing if it’s that time in their life and they want this part they can do it with or without that.”

I don't mean to pick on Aniston but use it only to highlight what's become gospel for liberals, who passionately say women don't need men anymore but in the same breath say "It takes a village" with the same amount of belief and passion in their voices.

Which is it?

Anytime a conservative politician points out that children of single parents statistically don't do as well as children of two parent families they're castigated for moralizing. But if a liberal says single mothers need more taxpayer money they're hailed as heroes. Aren't they really both saying the same thing, which is that it's very difficult to raise a child alone.

The conservative argues that perhaps society has a vested interested in promoting marriage because of the positive effect it has on children but liberals cry that unless the government plays the role of father for many, it essentially forces women to stay in abusive relationships. (This is the equivalent of the rape and incest argument to make all abortions legal.)

The effects of the liberal ideology are actually destroying the institution of marriage but the same liberals will also yell for more taxpayer money for all the victims of their own ideology and be called great moral leaders for their compassion. This, I fear, is all with the goal of saying women don't need anybody anymore, except liberal politicians.

But they sure as hell need the men to pay the taxes that subsidize their single parent lifestyle. It makes my blood boil that they can elect themselves to a welfare lifestyle at other peoples expense.

Didn’t a single female already try this by adopting a Russian orphan? She ended up sending the child back to Russia, alone. She treated a human being just like a piece of clothing.

Haven't studies also prove that a child raised by a single woman display an inordinate amount of “social” problems.

Reality check -

Contrary to accepted “liberated feminist dogma” raising a child is a full time job that requires constant attention 30 hours a day, 8 days a week. And those are the correct numbers folks. By the time you add sleep and a job and a social life to display your latest the numbers exceed 2 man weeks (14 days/336 hours).

Additionally a child needs both sets of patenting skills. The mother will fight to protect her child from all harm a proper response. The father will gradually let the child assume more and more adult traits as he assess the risks. If he can accept the risk the child is allowed to advance. If the risk is too high he will attempt to reduce it to acceptable levels. If he cannot then that activity is postponed until the risk level can be reduced.

Proof of the above?

Who runs along beside or behind a child as they learn to ride a bike? Who does the child go to when they fall off?
The TV has a very nice add running about a father talking to his daughter has she gets ready to drive off in the family car. The daughter is being lectured and shows up as a child; but she is an adult just as she drives off. An extremely effective add because the man is involved. It wouldn't be running if he was replaced by the mother.

Yep selfish women can have it all but then their children are the ones who pay the price for it. :(

I don’t have any quarrel with her argument as long as women really mean it when they say they don’t need men in their lives.

Put aside the argument that a male presence in the household as a father figure might be beneficial to the pyschological health of any child.

Let’s cut to the chase. Many women will heed Anniston’s declarations but don’t have the financial wherewithal to propertly take care of a child in a one parent family.

I don’t want a generation of women coming back to society and saying I wanted a child and now you must help me pay for it.
