Thank you for writing to share your thoughts and concerns about the proposed mosque and Islamic cultural center to be built at Park Place and Broadway in Lower Manhattan, several blocks north of the World Trade Center site. Our Administration strongly supports the right of faith groups to open houses of worship, or community centers, in whatever location they choose, provided it complies with all applicable laws. New York has long been America's most tolerant and diverse City, welcoming the best, brightest, and hardest-working individuals from around the world – no matter their identity or beliefs. As a City, we win by choosing to uphold the principles of freedom and respect that lie at the foundation of this tradition – and that the terrorists attacked on September 11, 2001. Winning the war on terrorism requires us not only to defeat our enemies, at home and abroad, but also to continue upholding the values that make America great.
Last month, the local community board voted by an overwhelming margin (29-1) to endorse the project. Of course, the approval process has many steps yet before it is finalized, and many questions remain unanswered. I understand that this is a particularly sensitive issue, and I am hopeful that more dialogue about the center will increase the understanding and cooperation that is so integral to the vitality of New York City.

Somehow I had Nightline on my TV in the background and just went to turn it off...I happened to see the snarky dandy Terry Moran commenting on Sarah’s tweet about the mosque and after he quoted her he actually said “whatever”!! My gosh are these media guys actually 7th grade girls that are jealous of the pretty and popular girl???
I wonder how many problems they’ll run into building it ... inspections, random acts of pork thrown over the fence .... stuff like that ...
Bloomberg has proven what a true scumbag he is. This is spitting in the faces of all the survivors and families of those who lost loved ones on 9/11. Bloomberg deserves to burn in hell.

I can’t wait until a proposal comes in to build a CHRISTIAN prayer center near ground zero where Americans can go to pray for America and for those who were lost and their family members. Anyone want to guess what happens when they get turned down?
This Administration, along with the media..value the feelings of the Muslim world more then the American people and especially those who were butchered on that day. I remember that day like it happened yesterday. I was terrified, terrified that it would happen here. I didn’t want to leave my house, I wanted to stay in my room all day and just see what was going on. I was absolutely terrified that we were next to be attacked and these bastards in NY want to put a mosque on that sacred ground..mind as well tell Bin Laden to come out of his cave, all must be forgiven now. He doesn’t have to hide anymore. Never did I imagine I’d see the day when a mosque would be allowed ANYWHERE near that site..Bloomberg is a turd unlike any turd I’ve ever seen
“Whatever” wow..I think I will quote Maury Povich when he once said that people who use that term are basically saying how uneducated they are. Terry Moran should change his name to Terry MORON because that is what he is. I remember that idiot during the OJ Simpson trial. See with these liberal media pricks, everything with them is protecting muslims. Israelis get attacked, rockets thrown at their houses, suicide bombers going into night clubs and blowing themselves up, yep that is all good to them. They can care less, but outrage over a mosque on sacred ground, the media is up in arms blasting people who are against it. Just remember after Ft. Hood, the media for days didnt even want to mention the name of the shooter, they were so sad it wasn’t some right winger

Bloomie is faced with several groups who will happily burn NYC to the ground if he stops paying tribute to them. That sounds like a personal problem to me!
I suspect that Bloomberg is another non-religious Jew that does not understand the importance of religion and religious symbols. He seems to only value money and himself. Bloomberg is afraid of offending Muslims because he is a coward. When all that matters is materialism, morality goes out the window. He values his own life above all else.
Have NY’s two senators voiced their opinions yet?
I just received an email on the subject of the NY mosque from a Frenchman that lives and works in the States. He was my boss in 2001 and we watched in horror the attacks on 9-11 during an engineering meeting. The email and the link are worth the read and watch:

I received this first video from Europe today. I added the link for the second video on CNN website, which will gives you another idea of the madness. The only good thing is that even in Europe people are upset with this non-sense. How is this possible? Although it occurred 9 years ago, the wound has not healed and it still hurts just to think about what happened. I did not know about this project until today... I still can’t believe it is true. Is it?
