In #14 you were spot on.
In #22 you dropped the ball. IMHO
Pot seems to attract the brightest and most ambitious of us...NOT.
I can’t stand dopers.
But to your question...
While 18 and 19 year olds are still considered teenagers I see nothing wrong with adults of that age doing what they choose as long as they're not doing physical or property damage to another.
It's a libertarian thing...you wouldn't understand.
You're so transparent in the way you posed your question that I can't believe others haven't called you on it.
It’s about the same as a father who has a beer or some other form of alcohol with their teenager.
Why? and is that hypocrisy?
I’m not talking about 18 or 19 yr.olds;I’m talking about 16 and 17 yr olds who are drop-outs and not doing anything with their lives. The fact that parents allow this is beyond my comprehension. Smoking pot with their children is something that I find shameful and stupid.I’m 33 but if I had a teen who was smoking weed I’d kick their behind. The question seems pretty simple to me.I was not talking about adults who are 18 or 19,although that seems too young to me.I think the WOD is foolish; It’s not going to stop drugs from coming into this country at all,and a lot of money is being pissed away on it.I guess I would not understand the “Libertarian thing” as I am a Conservative.
Wow,what a mature reply!
Neither can I.The two teens I know (one of whom is now considered an adult)are punks who are getting wasted on other drugs, such as Zanax and Vicodin.I guess I’m just seeing things from an entirely different point of view.I was not raised that way.
Exactly.I can’t grasp how a parent can be so lenient and allow their 17 yr old to smoke weed. Most parents I know would flip out.
It was such an adroit and mature question, huh? Only a stupid hippie could contemplate it.
I’m not a hippie and I’m not stupid.
So is your problem that they're smoking pot, that they're dropouts and lazy layabouts or that the parents failed to properly raise their kids to your standards and specifications?
You're adding to the story as you go (like liberals are apt to do) so it's a little hard to tell just what your real issue is.
First off,I’m NOT a liberal, just a CONSERVATIVE who is confused as to why a parent would allow their young kids to do such things. Are you a parent? If so,your kids probably have free reign, don’t they?I’m a citizen who was brought up to be responsible, finish school, amd not use drugs, since they obviously destroy lives.Do you really that think children should be brought up in an atmosphere where parents don’t care about what their kids are doing? I hope not. You’re the one who sounds like a lib to me.
I know these people and you don’t.At any rate, this thread should probably be yanked because of the constantly ignorant and insipid comments, such as yours.
That is the smartest and most mature reply I’ve received! I’m glad there are other like-minded folks out there.
Foolishness on the company’s part.
Productivity suffers compared to non pot users.
Judgment is impaired.
Motivation very impaired.
Some increased chance of accidents in some situations, IIRC.
Thanks for your kind words.
God be with you and yours.
BTW, my guess is that the parents do not think that much of themselves . . . and have been . . . lackadasical at best toward their children.
I don’t have children myself, but if I did,I would teach them to stay away from drugs, finish school, and handle things in a responsible manner.I may sound like I’m full of hot air but I have known these people for a while. I’m 33 and when my mother found out I was smoking it myself, she wigged out! I don’t anymore, because it made me paranoid and I don’t want to be thrown in jail. It has lost its appeal, and I don’t see the point of being “baked” and not really know what’s going on. I do think, however, that it’s good for medicinal purposes. If people want to smoke, fine, but keep the kids away from it.
Reasonable points, imho.
I think the medical aspect is . . . conflicted with data all over the place.
Thx.
