ongoing cultic placemarker
The Jehovahs Witness with God the father being separate from Christ, who himself is also a deity, a lower case g god, as signified by such things as your adding a theoretical a to John 1,(The Word was a god) are the Biblical Monotheist...

Put that way, it does seem backwards.
But we cannot expect consistency from these groups.
“It is futile to talk facts to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.” - Thomas Sowell
Beware!
The BEAST is at the door!
More than that, we want to hate those who willfully show themselves haters of Jehovah, haters of what is good. We hate them, not in the sense of wanting to do them harm or wishing them harm but in the sense of avoiding them as we would poison or a poisonous snake, for they can poison us spiritually. The Watchtower, June 15, 1980, p. 8

IOW, “stick with the group” and don’t spend time with anyone who might tell you the truth.
At least the Mormons aren’t THAT bad. They will shun people (especially apostates) but I would not say they, for the most part, treat them like poison.
Indeed, comes back around to the mind control / brainwashing by the JW. The 1975 didn’t come to pass IIRC, because the members were TOO obedient, or something along those lines.
PT Barnum had those who join JWs down pretty well.
Yes, as you know, the social rejection is a BIG factor in keeping the followers in line. JW is a very strong armed cult when compared to mormonism.

I had a friend who grew up JW. She had sex with her boyfriend when she was 17 (one time), and confessed it. She was kicked out and shunned by her family completely. She tried for years to get back in and make amends with her family but no luck. She finally gave up.
We had no idea she was JW until we had a surprise birthday party for her. That was awkward.
Indeed, probably was the first birthday party she ever had!
it was.
Did she ever get help/counseling to be able to deal with the abuse the JWs heaped upon her?
I don’t know. I moved to Utah shortly after the party, and lost touch with her. I have no idea what happened to her. She was still pretty brainwashed by the JWs then so I hope she got counseling and came to Christ, but I have no way of knowing or anyway of tracking her down.
Well, there’s always prayer.
And yet the nerve of these folks to do this then show up with their pseudo-linguistics.
Hey, I’ve enjoyed watching you eat their lunch and pop the bag in their face. :-)
