I like fishing just like anyone, but fishing on a frozen lake is not my idea of a good way to spend the afternoon. No sir, give me a fly rod and a nice river and I can fish all day long. Now these guys have found an interesting way to find out exactly where the fish in the lake are. I would not recommend it, but if you are from the extreme North, then I am sure you have either done it this way or at least contemplated it. Either way you really need to check out this video, it's real cool.
Insane Canadian Fishermen Video
I am not sure if these guys have balls, or just no brains.
Uh, Fred. I’m pretty sure that was staged...but that’s not to say my own brothers haven’t done something similar up here in Wisconsin, Eh! :)
2-foot thick ice; I love it!
Cold!
Those Canucks didn’t score any fish, you’ll note.
Damn. Can't fool you, Diana.
when i lived in durango, co., there was a joke that my “friends” played on me. in june, i was talked into going on a hike/swimming expedition. it was down cascade creek.
you had to jump off of a c. 30 ft. cliff into the creek initially.
from there, you had to jump off c. 7 more cliffs before you could exit the stream. (the walls were c. 30-40 ft. high and made up of what we used to call “shiite rock.”
the problem was that the melting snow from the surrounding mountains was still in full force in june and the water temp. was barely above freezing.
after the first jump, you were obligated to continue onwards.
when my body hit the water, my heart stopped for several beats. i could barely move. i could barely think. all i could do was flap my hand in a meager attempt to paddle my way to the side of the canyon to get the heck out of the water.
somehow, i managed to jump down all of the cliffs and escape.
needless to say, those “friends” are no longer “friends.”
OK, it may have been staged, but I ain’t getting into any water that has ice floating in it.
Also as for them not catching any fish, the guys swimming in the water probably scared the crap out if them. If I were a fish and I saw a couple of idiots swimming in the water as cold as it is, I would be gone to the other side of the lake.
I wouldn’t care how big their worms, or their balls are.
I watched this episode on CSI last night that had a couple of the characters take this newbie guy to a biker bar for his B-day. They kidnapped him and it just went from bad to worse.
Kinda reminds me of what you said happened to you.
what the heck are you talking about? Sure it’s a joke, but they were still under water under the ice for a long period of time. In the winter.
Did you get that part, there, smarty pants?
Auditioning for the Red Green show??

probably so. (but i get along with hardcore bikers). durango, and love of freedom will teach you those skills. :)
What is the “Red Green” show?
LOL! Sounds exactly like a Red Green episode.
We camped there many summers - but never ice fished.
I’ve been drunk there a few times.
You lost me. What movie. What scene. What’s the significance?
“Stripes” - Sgt. Hulka. The quote is - “Lighten up, Francis”
I think that’s what he was going for.
ALL I CAN SAY IS shrinkage.
Yep. I’m one smart cookie...or an unsharpened crayon or something like that, LOL!
