Speculation could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers and what happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here.
Diversity as a casualty would be an "even great tragedy" than the casualties of this act of war on American soil. I cannot believe what I am reading. It was not a tragedy, it was an terrorist attack. This is Obama's military command?

I warned Atlas readers that the dhimmi response to the biggest terrorist attack on a army base in US history would not be to galvanize the American people, elected officials or law enforcement. Instead, I said, the response would be disastrous. Instead of taking the enemy on, calling it what it is and taking offensive measures against a mortal enemy that has vowed our destruction, we submit.

"I'm concerned that this increased speculation could cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers. And I've asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that," Casey told CNN's "State of the Union."
There are about 3,000 Muslims on active duty military service or in the National Guard or reserve forces, Casey said. They remain a small minority within the U.S. military.
A Fort Hood official has said Hasan yelled "Allahu Akbar" -- Arabic for "God is Greatest" -- just before the shooting in which 13 people were killed and 30 wounded. The 39-year-old U.S. Army psychiatrist was shot four times by police. He was hospitalized but no longer needed a ventilator to breathe.

The Army’s top officer, General George Casey wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the mass killing at Ft. Hood was an act of terrorism. I asked General Casey about warning signs that could have been acted upon and if this was a premeditated act of terrorism or if this is a case of someone who just snapped. Casey said, “I think we need to be very careful here on speculations based on anecdotes like that.”
“We all want to know what happened and what motivated the suspect, but I think we need to be very, very careful here in these early days and let the investigation take its course,” Casey told me on ‘This Week.’
General Casey told me on This Week that he’s worried that diversity could become another victim of Thursday’s mass killing at Ft. Hood. The incident was not the first case of fratricide by a Muslim and when I asked how the military plans to deal with this potential problem in its ranks, Casey said, “Speculation could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers and what happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here. It’s not just about Muslims, we have a very diverse army, we have very diverse society and that gives us all strength. But again we need to be very careful about that.”

All those guys at the Madison Square Garden Rally weren’t put in detention camps. Patton however did want to make the defeated Nazi’s part of his Army in 1945.
Remove the Muslim soldiers now serving in the US armed forces from the wrath of their comrades - put them up for immediate discharge from service and any Reserve obligations they may now have. As an added inducement, offer to relocate them, after discharge, to any destination of their choice, with all their possessions and family.
The cheapest insurance, and the most positive step that may be taken, to assure that there shall be no further incidents in the nature of the recent massacre at Ft. Hood.
Time to put this Trojan Horse out to pasture. Have our military leaders learned NOTHING from von Clauswitz or Sun-Tzu?

Diversity and multiculturalism are not strengths. They will become our Achilles heel.
The fact that the major was able to openly side with the enemy for months and no one said boo, tells the tale.
Muslim soldiers aren’t going to be subjected to any kind of backlash because we aren’t like that. The general is worrying about a backlash that isn’t going to happen instead of worrying about a backlash that is happening, keeps happening, because he and officers like him are unable to separate the wheat from the chaff.
The question isn’t whether we are going to attack muslims. We never do except fairly on the field of battle. The question is if we are going to weed out muslims or anyone else who have made it clear that they are not loyal to the flag and support the enemy against their own country.
If you’ve got a soldier who is conflicted about which side he’s on, for pete’s sake get him out of the ranks. Don’t keep promoting him. Protecting traitors out of moral cowardice is the best way to cause a backlash that would otherwise never happen. Soldiers have to trust the man standing next to him.
If muslim soldiers have to go the extra mile to prove their loyalty in wartime when the enemy are fellow muslims, that is not automatically a bad thing. This is not the first war in which men have had cousins fighting for the other side. In a country like the US, it is bound to happen. You can’t avoid it, and you can’t avoid the necessity for some soldiers to feel a very justified need to prove themselves loyal.
The brass should not try to short-circuit a process that is natural and in fact must happen.
How about looking out for jihadists in your command General?

Yesterday on Free Republic, there were articles stating that there were 15,000 Muslims in the U.S. Military, and that the military was actively trying to recruit a lot more. Many are in positions of trust regarding security and top secret clearances. The politically correct idiots just can't bring themselves to admit that many of these fanatics cannot be trusted and are just biding their time to attack us again from within. With a Muzzie as commander in chief, I only see more disaster in our future.

I don’t know that I would go that far but I would certainly look deeply into the backgrounds of these people. I know, but not personally, of one office who is of at least Arab background but on if he is Muslim, and is highly respected and a fierce fighter for the American cause. So we cannot condemn all of these people but perhaps they need to be listened to more carefully for what they do say and then rounded up.

I bet this happened a LOT in WWII with American Japanese soldiers. They probably went a long way in helping us to defeat the Japanese in that war because they were Americans, not Japanese.

General Casey may very well understand the situation as well as or better than any of us. Unfortunately though, as a general officer, he is as much a political appointee as he is a military one. He has to know that, regardless of what he personally thinks should be done, if he says too much he could find himself in command of a latrine and the new man in his present office would probably be much worse than we think he is.
Sounds convoluted, I know, but sometimes the shortest route to a point isn’t a straight line... especially in politics.
