This expresses how I feel well. Tomorrow's a new day, though. ChocolateBunny

Now, I have a question. If this cannot be repealed, cannot another law be passed to simply make it null and void. The next conservative congress could pass the "Health Care Freedom Act" to open up competition and privatization and deregulation. Palin will sign it. Congress could pass a law that revokes the penalties for not accepting the gov. run system. There may be easier options, more creative options if it can not be repealed. Am I wrong???

The health care bill and the cap and trade bill mark the end of the representative republic. When you have the goal of fundamentally transforming America from the democracy you have to the socialist state you desire what’s cost of a few house seats? So what if the Republicans sweep the elections in 2010? A government program is eternal.

Republicans have shown that they do not have the intestinal fortitude to cut out even one cancerous government entitlement, much less a behemoth such as the one on the floor now. In fact, Republicans are more than happy to extend unemployment insurance, increase food stamps, enlarge the first time home buyer housing credit and hand over trillions of our children’s tax dollars to the completely unaccountable federal reserve.

Unless a major transformational shift occurs in the political landscape wiping the field clean of the entire current ruling class, both parties, we are watching the end of the Republic.

I think anything can be reversed but it takes years...The USSC has nibbled away at McCain/Finegold, but it takes time..There is another challenge to M/F now before the supreme court...but of course that depends on the make-up of the court....

Actually the Fed doesn’t take in tax dollars. It just creates money out of thin air by making loans to companies like AIG and Citibank. The loans are sometimes repaid years later in cheaper inflated dollars. All that money the Fed creates causes higher inflation, which is also a form of taxation, but the Fed isn’t funded by tax money. The Fed doesn’t need funding because it makes a lot of income off of most its loans and can just create money when it needs it.

Without repeal any new law will just pile complications and new bureaucracy on top of what already exists. Once it is passed and duly enacted it is the end of politics as we know it and the Europeanization of the United States. All future elections will be fought on Health Care- who can do it more efficiently or more compassionately. Eventually when there are no more antibiotics and the birth rate is still declining or has not improved the US will find itself in a demographic slide also as in Europe.

death by congress.

I have become aware that I feel increasing dirty just being an American. Isn't that awful?

The American people don't want this, but it's been shoved down our throats anyway. Clearly they must be ready for the upheaval that will follow... and it will follow, won't it?

I hope the stock market opens at zero on monday.

One required a civil war. The other may spark another civil war.

Never happen. It has to be prevented. I will NOT be repealed. If we have it in place and then get a Republican sweep of seats in the House and Senate the new guys will all get there and realize how much they can do for organizations and individuals that pay for their elections with this huge new framework for pork not to mention the huge new power that is centered in Washington which is now their city, their turf. The will never vote to disempower themselves. We organize and we vote our guys into office and they aren’t our guys anymore. They are woking only for themselves. And they will not vote to disemploy a million new bureaucrats.

I don’t believe the “We’re all doomed” thing.
There is always a way as long as there are a willing people.

No,not “doomed” but we have to prevent HC from passing the Senate in any form. Socialism isn’t “doomed” but it sure as hell is not the sort of system I wish to live under or bequeath to my children.

Actually the Fed doesn't take in tax dollars.

No, technically they don't. But they operate on the full faith and credit of the United States. They were given the ability to extend trillions in credit with the taxpayers as the guarantor.

Here's Bernanke explaining to a House panel that he really doesn't know which foreign banks got 500,000,000,000 dollars in loans of our money.
