A 15 year old boy was shot in the face after allegedy pulling a BB gun.
Stupid move.
The moron is lucky to be alive.
Unfortunately, I don’t think society will be as fortunate with the moron still living.
Kid’s new street cred level: Moron.
SBC?
I bet he knows better now.
Gee this kid was looking forward to doing great work too, he wanted to be a rapper. What a great aspiration. Only a true American would aspire to such great heights.
Kinda hard to rap with half a cheek.
When you play the big boys gun game with a toy pistol you arent bright enough to rhyme, it’s best Marcus looks for another career. Possibly riding the shotgun seat on a trash truck.
Sounds like a good shoot to me.
Cop sees the kid pull a gun on someone and perceives imminent danger and does what cops are supposed to do.
> SBC?
Pardon my ignorance, but I don’t get it.
Sad to say these are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.
You might say someone was "moving for" or "pulled", but in sequence, not simultaneously. Here we have the eye witness, the cop, saying just "moving for", but the "newsie" is amplifying the story!
So, who do we want to believe ~ the neighborhood undercover narc' or a newspaper reporter.
Hmmm. There could be a better choice, right?
Then, again, this is New York where people who carry blades longer than 4 inches, or who have BB guns, or Louisville slugger baseball bats soaked in motor oil for 10 years, or..... well, you name it, are deemed to be the vilest sort of criminals who may be shot down in cold-blood even for defending themselves!
I'm not sure any crime happened given our own local standards ~ and the officer would definitely be sent in for retraining ~ lots of long hours at the range Fur Shur.
Now there’s a messed up title. One more verb could have cleared it up.
Word, yo!
one shot, which pierced Marcus' cheek and blasted out of his jaw.
Marcus, aka Mumbles...
Sorry
I’m working on my first cup of coffee
Suicide by Cop
never bring a BB gun to a gun fight?
The boy "allegedly" pulled a gun, but the cop definately shot the boy.
How 'bout the cop "allegedly" shot the boy?
Isn't everything "alleged" until proven in a court of law?
Oh, sorry. Only protected classes get the benefit of "alleged."
suicide by cop
See the difference?
“SBC = Suicide by Cop”
OK, thanks guys!
:)
Moral of this story: Dont pull anything that looks like a gun on a police officer. OK, moving on to the next lesson of the day.........
Only reason I put allegedly is that there is discrepancy in the article about what the youth did. Police officer says kid made a move (not visible before shot) and the article says flashed (visible before shot). I always tend to believe the police officer. I use the word allege (assert as true) in reference to the article not court. Either way goal number one was accomplished the officer goes home alive.
Who wrote that headline?
I would have shot him too, how much effort are you expected to make, figuring out what kind of gun is pointing at you?
Why would a police officer use a BB gun to shoot the boy?
What about his service pistol?
“You’re gonna shoot your eye out, kid.”
