I'm in NC.
I only get a choice out of who's left standing.
Had to go with Keyes last time around - but then Juan had been picked already.

I have no idea. Sarah I suppose at this point, but I really hope someone else comes to the front. I would much rather see her in the Karl Rove position.. managing the campaign. Maybe Liz Cheney since daddy can’t run.

Jindal may get some interest, but he doesn’t ‘look’ Presidential, and (to a great degree) it is a beauty contest, of sorts.
Romney has been exposed as the RINO he really is.
Juan McLame is too cozy with the leftists.
Newt won’t weather the primary heat on his personal life, although he would likely be a good choice but for that.

. . .or Santorum (but the last only if, may God forbid it, there’s been a major terrorist attack on U.S. soil in the meantime—I’m afraid, much though I like him, maybe better than the other two, that’s the only way he could be electable: he’d seem prophetic.)

Palin.
Failing that, anyone but Huckabee.
To: rbmillerjr
Still like Rudy. Think he could get more done than any of the others out there as of now. He is not afraid to pick a fight with the rats on many issues. And he can win. He can beat Obama in NY and NJ.
Would take him over Romney, Palin or Huck. Romney is just as liberal, but not tough enough to take on the rats. Palin cannot win. Huck doesn’t like to fight.
I hope we can find someone else to come along, but I see no one who gets me real excited.
To: SouthWall
Neither of them stand a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected in 2012.
Palin has been too badly vilified by the left for the left to vote for her, and we do need the left’s vote.
Romney is chameleon. He’ll not rate high among Conservatives, or even most Republicans, and certainly not the left.
A sleeper will emerge. Blackburn might be on the ticket, but not as the POTUS candidate. There are some good Governors, but the left has become successful in tearing them apart, as well.
It’s going to have to be someone in the shadows, probably from the House, who is fairly unscathed, and able to build a broad, positive National image, and frame the campaign on healing and progressing us. And they’ll have to do it in way that appeals to both parties.
But, the real question is not who, but which.
Big money, or big issues?
Will we “come out” as a “social democracy or Republic”? Or, will we re-commit to our true American principles?
Personally, I think taking Congress back is much, much, more important, and that’s where we should put our eggs right now.

Let's just focus 100% on taking as many House and Senate seats as possible in 2010. Otherwise there may not be a country left that any Republican President could salvage in 2012. The depradations are accumulating that fast.
Personally whatever I have to volunteer will be devoted to getting Texan Michael Williams into Kay Bailey's Senate seat:

Right now of all the names in the hat, I like Palin, because of her experience, ideas and attitude. I know we like her, but there will be a real firefight if she gets the nod.
NO MORE SENATORS (they don’t have enough executive experience). I prefer a governor over a senator in general because of that. And after the mess the Dims are leaving us, we will need a good executive who knows how to lead.
Never McCain, Never Romney, never Newt.
Don’t know if Jindal has the charisma.
