CBS News skepticism regarding the number of jobs saved by the Obama Administrations stimulus legislation raised ire at the White House. CBS News reporter Chip Reid aired a report revealing that many of the Administrations claimed job saved or created totals were either exaggerated or false.
Separately, CBS investigative reporter Stephen Stock worked undercover to expose a pattern of fraud at medical clinics operating in South Florida. This is part of an estimated annual $60 billion worth of fraud perpetrated in the governments Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Were putting CBS on notice, said Barack Obamas Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. Its basically a question of loyalty. We expect this kind of nonsense from Fox News. By imitating Fox, though, CBS is undermining its credibility with the Administration. They need to know that no good can come of such behavior.
Emanuel indicated that CBS, like Fox, might be put off limits for Administration officials. Access to those inside the Obama Administration is by invitation and permission only, Emanuel reminded. We cant stop our enemies from attending events open to the public, but we dont have to let them into our own house.
CBS, along with other recognized news outlets, recently thwarted Administration efforts to exclude Fox News from participating in a pooled-media interview with Obamas pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg.

Fiction so close to the truth as to not be funny.
Satirical posts like this should be banned. 2 minutes I’ll never get back.

They are going to run out of friendlies at this rate. :)
I guess CBS will have to decide whether they are a news reporting agency or a propaganda tool.
Oh man...satire is getting harder to recognize...
Socialism in America...

He is more akin to Blackula..or Barackula, if that’s too much..
i’m with ya’ on this one.........it’s so way close to home ===disturbing===
Agreed
You had me going until the 4th paragraph!
Thanks. Your blog made my “no read” list.
Damn it, John, you had smoke coming my ears before I realized it was you. . . . . .again.
.....Bob
It would be like Obama getting Nixoned! ; )
John’s work is semmenal; give it nine months and you’ll be a new man with hours to spend.
Doggone it! I was so hoping this was true. I wanted to see Katie Couric’s head explode (figuratively of course).
bttt
I agree.
Pravda Washington ...
If the shoe fits, wear it.
Destroy the pleasure of a good read for thousands just to sate your own frustration?
No way!
Another GREAT one John! : - D
Yeah, like that one about giving the Queen an ipod. Or the one about taking over GM. Or the best one - winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
I disagree. They are designed to get people to see the implications of sitting back and doing nothing. This got all of you thinking and I don’t see it as so far fetched.
Good one; took ‘til the 3rd sentence after which I had to check the source.
Or a victim of the sharpest satirical keyboard in the land.
;-)
Satirical posts like this should be banned.
I agree.
X2 getting my hopes up like taht is just not funny
I know it is satire. But perhaps a more credible satiric threat than cutting off access to personnel would have been the threat that CBS couldn’t lick any more boots!
This isn’t satire. It isn’t funny.
Who cares what the White House thinks? Publish the truth!
I do not like finding out this was satire when I’m thinking this was a real news story...
When I post on FR, I check, and double check my sources to make sure everything I post related to breaking news is accurate...
Like the Gingrich/Scozzafava posts today...
I think satire lowers the bar and causes confusion..
I agree. One shouldn’t have to read all the fine print in a post header to know it is a lie.

HELLO WHITE HOUSE: WE ARE PUTTING YOU ON NOTICE........this is the United States of America, not some dictatorial 3rd world communistic country.
We the people expect loyalty also:
1-Don’t ruin our country (already done)
2-Don’t socialize medicine (almost done)
3-Don’t destroy the American Dream (almost a nightmare)
4-Don’t destroy free speech (working on it)
5-Don’t take away our guns ( can I have an Amen or Hell No on that one!
You will only have 1 chance. Make the best of it when you vote.
They deserve all they get.
Powders dry and one in the chamber!
Satire has to have an element of absurdity.
Maybe 25 years ago these posts would have had the requisite absurdity to qualify as satire but today they are just fictional news articles that imitate what has happened or realistically could happen.
That is the truth!! I was getting all fired up over that “warning” that Rahm gave CBS, then saw that it was satire. It's so close to the truth, it is hard to recognize.
Satire must first be topical, 20 years ago the media remained as the monitor of excess and phamphleteers were the water carriers for the arrogant power masters.
With the positions now reversed, we float upon the gutters of obvious absurdity; gotta step out and shake it off, now and then.
Excellent work!
Oh please, Oh please, Oh please screw the adoring news media that hides all your pimples from the American public. The only way they learn is to get burned. Come on over to our side we welcome you with open arms. The foundation is crumbling, get otu the barbi where gonna have a real good time!
Satire is defined as follows:
1 : a literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn
2 : trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm used to expose and discredit vice or folly
Good satire is indistinguishable from reality because it reveals an underlying truth.
Farce that is obviously fake—like Scott Ott’s work—is a different style of sticking it to the left.
May have to add another wing to the “doghouse”.
John is an expert at divining what libs think if not what they actually say. He's inside their little, scrambled brains. That's why so many Freepers are fooled. It's too close to the truth.
The really sad part is that John wrote an satirical article in the past that cam to fruition.
Speak for yourself. I like it. Alot. I look forward to John's weekly articles. Always good for a laugh.
You almost had me - then I realized two journalist with backbone aren’t “CBS” - they’re a “hiring mistake by a knee jerk liberal butt-kissing network.
Pokin’ with the sharp stick today?
noun
1. the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.
2. a literary composition, in verse or prose, in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.
3. a literary genre comprising such compositions.
I don't see irony, sarcasm, ridicule or the like....and I don't see human folly held up for ridicule
What I do see is actual or near actual events with minor changes in such a way to make a believable but fake news report.
That is about as satirical as fake 911 calls.
Nothing personal, I'm just telling you why I don't appreciate your posts and will skip them.
