Sounding more like an independent than a Democrat, Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., tells ABC News he will campaign for some Republican candidates during the 2010 midterm elections and may not seek the Democratic Senate nomination when he runs for re-election in 2012.

ABC News' Jonathan Karl chats with Sen. Joe Lieberman on the Capitol Hill subway"I probably will support some Republican candidates for Congress or Senate in the election in 2010. I'm going to call them as I see them," Lieberman said in an ABC News "Subway Series" interview aboard the U.S. Capitol Subway System.

I know this is the WaPo, but how does an independent who was chased from the Demo party be characterized as going rouge? I am stunned here, this has to be written by someone who graduated from an ivy league college or something.

You are a “Maverick” if you are a Republican turncoat, you are a “Rogue” if you are a Democrat turncoat.

It's time for all Americans to put country before Party!

Whether you're a Dem or Repub, you still have to promote and defend the conservative principles of the Founding Fathers and the Constitution.

Otherwise, no money or vote from me!

Why is he not called a "Maverick" "One that refuses to abide by the dictates of or resists adherence to a group; a dissenter"

instead of a "rogue" "An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal.

I think they are trying to tie him to Sarah Palin with the “Going Rogue” line.

If “going rogue” is good enough for Sarah, it’s good enough for Joe.

Whatever one wants to say about Lieberman, he’s his own man.

“Sounding more like an independent than a Democrat”

When Republicans betray their party, they’re called “Mavericks”. When an independent goes against Democrats, they’re called “traitors”.
