Iraqi jihadist planting an IED takes a 50 cal round to the head. Note: This is a long clip, I'd recommend fast forwarding to the 9:30 mark.

“That’s why I say hey man nice shot”...
Too bad.
LOL, the best part is that the shooter let the idiots dig for almost 10 minutes before the kill shot.
I am assuming that the two vehicles and their occupants were also taken care of.
Yes! Letting them dig was good!
Please put me on the list.
Ka booom....meet Satan, you freak!!!
Excellent shot, too bad he didn’t get the other one.
They did catch the other one from what I can tell, you see them leading him out of the brush (and gave what appears to be a nice beat down)
Let them dig and dig only to die tired.
Based on the lat/lon and range info on the display, it looks like the helicopter was hovering over the western corner of Joint Base Balad, north of Baghdad, and targeting to the south along a canal. Based on range 2285m and elev -0.8, it would have had an altitude of 32m. You can set it all up in Google Earth.
I suppose the targets could have heard the helicopter, but would have assumed that it was part of routine airbase activity.
re: hearing helicopter. Think is was a ground level or near ground level manned OP.
As I stated, the range and elevation from the display give an elevation of 32m, which has the same aspect angle as viewing a scene 228 meters away from a height of 3.2 meters.
However, I agree it was not necessarily a helicopter. I think it's actually likely that this was a tower mounted scope at the corner of the base, and there is even a tower visible in the Google image at that location, which appears as small radio tower ( not a guard tower. )
