Is Reagan Conservatism Dead?

Is Reagan Conservatism dead? The answer is a resounding - No! The ideal is as solid as it has ever been, but the objective view of this writer is that it is not enough to deliver this nation from the 70 year socialistic grip of liberalism and its horrific consequences (moral and institutional) on our society and people. Anyone who has an objective view and appraisal of our current situation would have to agree.

In light of the present conditions plaguing our country and what seems to be the disintegration of the Republican Party, Conservatives have been on suicide alert - all the way from the top to the bottom. As we reflect on the days of Ronald Reagan; we wonder what the future of our country will become in light of the present socialistic grip that has Washington and the American people by the throat.

Reagan conservatism will never die. Now, the question is, are there enough Reagan Conservatives left in the halls of congress to turn this sinking ship around? I say, Hell No.

NY23 Or Bust! Let’s help get the Reagan conservatives back in office and push out the RINOs that have taken over the good conservative name.

I think that Reagan Conservatism was dormant for awhile there, waning quite a bit during Clintons 8 years in office.

Then after 9/11 we saw a brief resurgence, but the MSM did a good job of stifling the patriotism that was awakened by that horrible terrorist attack. And by the MSM’s constant propagandizing against President Bush. And hurricane Katrina gave same media a good tangible reason to further disparage Republicans as uncaring.

But i think that Obama’s American hating, dirty deeds and/or lack of attention to the important pressing issues coupled with his staged, creepy personality has been a boost to the conservative ideology.

There are a few good men left in congress. The trick is to get the misfits out. I hope that this time everyone checks the background of any congress critter they plan to vote for. We sure don't need to replace the bad with the worse.

When Reagan was elected we still had the idea of a national and industrial economy. Since then our economy has taken on a global and -- for want of a better word -- post-industrial nature. Debt has also become much more of an issue than it was 30 years ago.

That doesn't mean that Reaganism is obsolete. But one can't simply repeat the same old slogans without dealing with the changes.
