In 2003, several counties in Northern Virginia banded together to form a joint task force to crack down on illegals and gangs. Then in March of last year, Prince William County made national headlines by upping the ante even further. They passed an ordinance that required County police to verify the immigration status of any criminal or traffic suspects when there was probable cause to think they were in the country illegally. The suspects were held and transferred to ICE, irrespective of the disposition of the underlying charge.

Can we forward this article to Rush and Lou Dobbs?
This is deserving of national exposure.
At the risk of sounding provincial, Virginia has done a pretty good job of maintaining a great business environment and generally staying away from the crap that has dragged down so many other states, i.e. blue states. Hopefully, if conservatives do well on election day, we will reinforce this position. Seems pretty certain that last year’s Obama fever here has broken and the resulting buyer’s remorse may innoculate us from further nonsense for a while.
Our AG was Bob McDonnell. He’s about to be our next Governor. Running on good conservative values and kicking Marxist ass all the way!!
And I just noticed that you are also the author.
Very well written!
The task force has brought federal and local law enforcement agencies together, and the report credits it with helping drive down the region's violent crime rate by 17 percent over the six years of the study.
Wow!,....a county or state actually enforcing the law. What’s next, actually deporting or jailing criminals?
It’s a start. Let’s hope it spreads.
Sent the story to my State Senator here in Pennsylvania.
Prince William was an absolute cesspool of illegals. Friends of mine have had a home in PW for 30 years. Like most neighborhoods, kids grow up and the parents sell. My friends stayed and watched the neighborhood being bought up or rented by 3 and 4 families per house of hispanics. Suddenly, there were clothes lines in the front yard, beer cans in the street, break in’s and a regular police patrol.

Great work and I hope it continues. I’m glad to see the Old Dominion returning to its traditional ways.
In our nice Nevada neighborhood we had 'em hanging their wash to dry on the side fences facing the street. Tobacco Road.
Now if we throw the DEMS out, it will be good.
You are very kind. I live in Northern Virginia, so this is a welcome bit of news.
Ladies and Gentleman, the statement in the article that 40 percent of the 952 illegals arrested were gang members should set off some serious alarm bells.
Of the 1 million documented gang members in this country, half are latino/hispanic. If, for sake of argument, the above percentage is also true for the 500,000 latino/hispanic gang members, that means we have the equivalent of ten divisions of armed, violent foreign nationals inside our borders.
Obama will put an end to this very quickly!
