So Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid stood up to conservatives and the entire health care industry and included an opt-out public option in the bill he will take to the Senate in a few weeks. Bully for you, Harry. You did what you should have done all along. I can't believe there was any question whether we'd include a public option in the mix to make sure the insurance companies had something to compete against.
And now we have to worry about...conservative Democrats. This is really too much for me. Two terms of Bush and his wall-to-wall idiocy took all the stuffing out of me. I don't have any fight left to devote to wall-to-wall idiocy within my own party.
Is it true what Republicans say about Democrats--that we really can't get out of our own way? Or are some of these so-called blue dogs following the money? Should I be worrying that health insurance companies have Democratic senators--my senators--in their pockets? Is that why Move On keeps sending me these emails suggesting I call Dianne Feinstein and insist that she support her own party's reforms?
I thought these people had my back; I really did. When Obama was elected, I breathed out. It was instant Prozac. I realized that for eight years, about 80% of my feelings of hopelessness were Bush-based. We finally had the numbers; we could restore the balance and get some good things done.
But we don't have the numbers, because we don't have all of our number. Reid's aides say we're several Democrats short--not votes, Democrats--of a filibuster-proof majority. Because why, as a Democrat, would you support the most important liberal achievement of our time?

Read the comments.
She’s friggin’ deranged. Mentality like this is beyond my ability to comprehend.
Scathing comments, overwhelmingly.
These people, on the left, have severe emotional issues.
She probably just realized that with the Dims having 75+ advantage in the House and 20 in the Senate, there is no way she could blame the Republicans.
You didn’t think that the BDS would just evaporate, did you?
Do we dare ask you to post her picture?

Aren't you supposed to be *working* on the job??
Actually, she’s not bad looking. Always unusual in these whiny Dem women.
Stephanie Losee is your typical truly evil San Francisco communist totalitarian monster, oops I meant well meaning liberal.
I wonder if she actually get a date from her office. Providing, she ever has an office.
“I realized that for eight years, about 80% of my feelings of hopelessness were Bush-based.”
Geeeeeez, what a drama queen!
She’s a pop psychology relationship columnist.
She basically destroys the lives of any fools idiotic enough to follow her musings. And gets paid for it.
Yeah, I saw that when I opened the link. Not at all bad looking for a Dem woman. They are so few and far between.
Wasn't there a research report that modern man had sex with Neanderthals...I guess this proves it
Beautiful!
Yet kind of sad. Judging from her picture, this woman needs health care, having evidently been severely beaten with an ugly stick......
I’ll send her a packet of Kool-Aid. Maybe she and her friends can have a Jonestown party in Nov. 2012.
I think my favorite part is her last paragraph where she says “The Republicans don’t have a problem with unity. Beat the Democrats, even when they’re in favor of something that would benefit us all. If we said we wanted to eliminate taxes forever the Republicans would vote against it, just to deliver yet another defeat to the opposition.”
On the front page here at FR, it says that the Senate voted 87-13 to extend unemployment benefits. My math’s not too good (hence why I decided to become a lawyer), but in order for there to be 87 aye votes, wouldnt some Republicans have to vote for it?

Yep. The comments tore this foolish woman a new one.
Maybe Stephanie Loser should judge things by Occam’s Razor. Maybe Obama’s ideas are so daft, many Dems are trying to wriggle them off faster than a dog wriggles off that funny hat you put on him. The funny hat the Obama admin is trying to force on many moderate Dems is the hat that says the wearer is a Marxist fool. Maybe many Dems don’t like to be that far left.
