Have you ever heard about a woman named Mary Dyer? She was condemned by the Puritans in 1660s for her Quaker beliefs. The Puritans believed in religious freedom for themselves (and, I guess, some other Calvinists). But they didn’t hesitate to persecute those who wandered off of the Calvinist reservation. That said, it would be wrong to judge them by today’s standards. The entire Western world was involved in religious struggles of various kinds, and they were merely acting like everyone else did at the time.
No, but Baptists, Quakers, Catholics and others were generally given the choice to either convert to Puritanism or be banished from living in Puritan-controlled areas. If they stuck around unconverted, they could be heavily fined or subjected to various corporal punishments.

Actually, while not being beheaded, Baptists were dispossessed of their property and expelled from the Bay Colony and other Puritan strongholds. Some were also whipped for preaching, too, IIRC.

I don't know about France, but in the US it is just about impossible to discriminate against straight white males under the age of 50; possibly 55. Why? They're not a member of a protected class. Neither are Asian or Indian males in that age range.
