Why hasn't 911 Truther Charlie Sheen been boycotted and instead makes $825 000 per episode?

Charlie Sheen is a 911 Truther and has never felt the consequences from stubbornly holding on to such thoroughly discredited and un-American beliefs. I’ve always asked myself this simple, straightforward question about Charlie Sheen: Why is the man still (unfortunately) a viable, popular and high-earning figure in American entertainment when his 911 Truther beliefs are fanatical at best and all-out anathema at worst?

Don’t you just hate it when a man such as Sheen has fanatically un-American viewpoints, yet is never shunned or even all-out rejected by the American people? I know I sure as heck do because in my experience with 911 Truthers, the course of action has usually been to, rightly, fire them, ostracize them, or completely reject them. The latest such example of a 911 Truther to suffer the aforementioned fate was Van Jones, thanks to Glenn Beck, and other outed 911 Truthers include former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (who assaulted a cop, remember?), has-been actor Ed Asner, and French Journalist Thierry Meysan who is actually declared as a persona non grata by the US government.

I can’t boycott a show I don’t watch, plus I’m not a Nielsen family anyway.

Sorry, I’m pretty much against all organized boycotts even for nuts like Sheen. If we boycotted everything because of nutty people, there wouldn’t be much left to boycott. I don’t watch the show anyway, so I already have sort of an unofficial personal boycott. But I’m certainly not going to urge others not to watch the show.

Huh? This is Hollywood we're talking about here.

Who ISN'T fanatically anti-American in showbiz?

Because, in this country he is entitled to his opinion even if I disagree. Also I am smart enough to separate his talent from his opinions and can derive pleasure from watching his work.

I enjoy listening to Dave Matthews music although his politics are polar opposites of mine.

I enjoy watching Jack Nicholson on screen but don’t admire his lifestyle.

I’m not sure taht carrying around anger and hostility is what God has in mind for us - enjoy the day! Look for the good in everyone!

Unlike a member of the Executive Branch of Government who is in a position to make policy decision.

It’s sad that one of the few shows that actually captures humor from a male perspective, has as one of it’s stars a guy that can’t think above the level of a fourteen year old.

In Charlie Sheen’s defense, he was raised by a man that thought we were wrong in Nicaragua and El Salvador, and hated Ronald Reagan. And that’s just the tip of the ice-berg.

Martin Sheen has been just short of being a lock-up mental case for decades. His wealth and notoriety have allowed him to not only infect his own family with his sickness, but many in the public as well.

Charlie is what he is, because that’s what he has been exposed to his whole life.

It’s clear that the guy can’t hang on to a relationship. His world view is woefully poisoned. How do you raise kids to be this defective?

A lot of lefties, I just can’t stand. In the case of Charlie Sheen, I get the impression that the guy needs an intervention more than a condemnation.

In a room with reasoned people, I wonder if he might not come around in time. What would it be like for him to actually be exposed to people who would explain why his theories are brain-dead non-starters when confronted with truth?

I watch the show too. I don’t watch an episode without thinking how sad it is that Charlie is so screwed up. Perhaps it’s best his dad raised a kid that can’t keep a relationship together. Perhaps the generational hand-off can be defeated in his offspring’s case.

Knowing that, how could a guy like McCain tie himself to him in any way shape or form. When I heard that John had formed a working relationship with Soros and Teressa Heinz Kerry and the Tides Foundation, I was dumbfounded.

John’s top campaign workers were hired on to a foundation he set up with these people and their organization’s help.

They got fat salaries, $100k plus.

It was one major factor in my decision to never cast a vote for him, although there was plenty more.

I don’t have a problem with a performer whose opinion differs from mine. If, say, a cast member of CSI:New York said “I campaigned and voted for Barack Obama,” my reaction would be “okay, that’s your opinion.” However, if they said “I campaigned and voted for Barack Obama because I couldn’t in any conscience be associated with conservatives or Republicans because those people are so inherently evil and Sarah Palin is a jerk” - well then I imagine I stop watching CSI:New York and ask Gary Sinese how he puts up with that moron.

You can hold a differing opinion - but you have no right to denigrate MY beliefs in the process and expect me to support you by giving your show ratings.

And I believe Sheen and Cryer did a PSA in support of the troops, sending care packages to them, etc.

Me too. Charlie is a nut on political things but he and his show is one of the funniest ones on TV today. I can’t think of any other show that actually makes me laugh out loud like two and a half men. Boycotting his show, to me, is like spitting into the wind. It will not have one iota effect on his ratings or popularity. Besides, crazy as they are, is he not entitled to his opinion, as we are?

I don’t think it is humorous. I think it is vulgar, crass and demeaning and I cringe when I see that trying to be passed off as humour. It is typical Hollywood pushing the envelope in bad taste, like taking the Al Bundy family to an all new low. There is no funny there as far I can see; just irreverence to every decent norm. It’s just a new shock tool of Hollywood and once we’re not shocked any more they’ll keep pushing the envelope.

A lot of people from here joined you. I just couldn’t vote for another go-along to get-along guy.

Notice how many times McCain has praised Obama action this year, and realize how many times he would have done the same exact things as Obama. It’s both depressing and frankly scary to realize that.

At least what is happening today, is happening because an acknowledged Leftist is ramming it through. It isn’t being done in the name of the Right, the Republican Party, even Conservatism, and yes, even the people who voted for the man, you.

I don’t fault you. I merely present the reality of a McCain win. He would have done way too much of what Obama wants to do, and barely anyone would have objected.

As amazed as I am that so many find Sheen's rudeness and crassness funny, they have the right to watch him. For me I just can't spend my hard earned money to increase the wealth of those in Hollywood who think my conservative values are trash. But that is the great thing about America...for now... we can be individuals. Sheen has a right to his beliefs, others can watch him and I have a right not to support his lifestyle.

You should have seen the fluff job McCain was gifted with last week on Leno. It was actually quite funny and made McCain look like a very cool guy. Then you realize he was given the questions up front and worked them over before the show.

The same thing took place with Michelle Obama. Both instances made me somewhat ill. John during the presentation stated no-way would he run again. I’m not convinced of that.

Thanks for the comments Trisham.

So you never got hooked on Al Gore's "Current" show, eh?

Sheen would fit right in there, now that he's sporting that pasty new aids look.
