Wade, so I didn’t think it was going to pass constitutional muster.”" A good story, but a story that Jill Stanek and Obama Banking Committee Lie - 07/25/2008 Newsbusters reports Obama said: “We passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee, a bill to call for divestment from Iran.” The problem? Obama was not on the US Senate Banking Committee!

Her sole experience has been as an opposition researcher for Democratic political campaigns: She helped dig up dirt on rivals”. The move indicates an intention to use the White House Counsel’s office to keep Obama in power by digging up more dirt on Sarah Palin and any other potential threats to his 2012 campaign.

He said, “There are people right now with good credit who can’t get loans to buy an RV.” He used the recreational vehicle example after being in Elkhart, IN where many are made. The statement is completely false. There are about 11,000 banks in the USA and 7,000-to-9,000 have no financial problems at all, and even make money. These banks have money to loan to people with good credit and a good down payment. It is a lie to say that people with good credit cannot get a loan to buy an RV and help the people in Elkhart.

On the campaign trail, Obama made this pledge: ‘When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as a president, you the public will have five days to look online and find out what’s in it before I sign it, so that you know what your government’s doing.’ The stimulus bill, a pay equity bill, a bill expanding children’s health insurance, the omnibus spending bill funding the remainder of the 2009 budget and a public lands bill were all signed before the final version was posted for public review for five days.”

Obama takes Vacation instead of signing so-called “URGENT” stimulus bill! 2/15/9 - The New York Post: ” After pushing Congress for weeks to hurry up and pass the massive $787 billion stimulus bill, President Obama promptly took off for a three-day holiday getaway. Obama arrived at his home in Chicago on Friday, and treated wife Michelle to a Valentine’s Day dinner downtown last night. The couple was spotted leaving upscale Table Fifty-Two, which specializes in Southern cuisine, with the first lady toting what appeared to be a doggie bag. The president plans to spend the Presidents’ Day weekend in the Windy City, and is not expected to sign the bill until Tuesday, when he travels to Denver to discuss his economic plan.”
Obama Broken Tax Promise # 2 2/17/9 - The St. Petersburg Times says Obama promised a $3,000 tax credit for businesses that add an employee. His stimulus bill did not include the idea and it appears to be dead. It never got support in Congress, even from Democrats. Lawmakers were concerned the credit wasn’t enough of an incentive. Tax policy analysts said the credit would be an administrative nightmare.
Obama’s Troop Surge Hypocrisy 2/18/9-Candidate Barack Obama was very vocal about how awful troop surges were. He stood firm in demanding the Bush surge was a mistake and only admitted to Katie Couric that surges actually worked after a good deal of badgering by her. Now, that he isn’t playing politics on TV anymore and actually has the job (wonder if he realizes that yet?), he has suddenly changed his tune! Obama Appointment Scandal #20 John Deutch - 2/19/09 Ronald Kessler at Newsmax: Deutch is on an advisory panel on spy satellites, violating Obama’s pledge to hold everyone in his administration to the highest ethical standards. Deutch ran the CIA for a short time & agreed in 2001 to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents. President Clinton pardoned him as he left office. “Deutch essentially walked away from what is one of the most egregious cases of mishandling of classified information that I have ever seen, short of espionage,” Sen. Richard C. Shelby, R-Ala.
Obama’s Mileage Tax Super Fast Flip Flop -On Feb. 20, 2009 Obama transportation secretary Ray LaHood suggests motorists be taxed based on how many miles they drive. Fox news reports that mere moments later, his own spokeswoman Lori Irving shot the idea out of the sky. “The policy of taxing motorists based on how many miles they have traveled is not and will not be Obama administration policy.” Who is running this show? Obama, LaHood or Irving? You’re still not safe to drive though as some states are considering this tax!

Obama Energy Lie # 1 -2/24/9 Barack tells a joint session of congress “we will double this nation’s supply of renewable energy” in 3 years so 16.8% of our energy comes from hydro, solar and wind by 2012. Fox reports: “Under the status quo, the Energy Department says, it will take more than two decades to boost that figure to [just] 12.5 percent.”

Hugo Obama says “we import more oil today than ever before.” Fox says that isn’t true: “Oil imports peaked in 2005 at just over 5 billion barrels, and have been declining slightly since. The figure in 2007 was 4.9 billion barrels, or about 58 percent of total consumption. The nation is on pace this year to import 4.7 billion barrels, and government projections are for imports to hold steady or decrease a bit over the next two decades.” & Tell your friends we get most of our oil from Canada (it’s true!).

Obama Questionable History - 2/24/9 Obama promises to save the United Auto Workers Union, “the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.” Many question that version of history saying Karl Benz of Germany invented the automobile in roughly 1885.
Obama’s Broken Tax Promise # 3 - 2/24/9 - Obama told congress he lived up to his promise to give a tax cut to 95% of all Americans. That’s a lie and a broken promise and he knows it. 40% of all Americans don’t make enough money to pay any federal income tax at all. That means even a tax cut for everyone else would only be a tax cut for 60% of Americans. What he actually did was use your tax dollars to provide a welfare check to the 40% by giving them $13 a week in their paycheck starting in April. If his math is right and another 5% are to get tax hikes, then the remaining 55% of Americans actually will get that whopping $13 tax cut and the rest of us are screwed. UPDATE 4/19/8 - David Axelrod, amazed people could be upset enough to hold tea parties, repeats the lie: “The thing that bewilders me is this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people. So I think the tea bags should be directed elsewhere because he certainly understands the burden that people face.”

Obama’s Healthcare Spending Lie …and in a bizarre statement, he claimed using tax dollars to create a socialist medicine program would reduce the deficit (he made no attempt to explain that).UPDATE5/3/9: Obama: “the more we do on the (disease) prevention side, the more we can obtain serious savings down the road. … If we’re making those investments, we will save huge amounts of money in the long term.” Fox News says not so fast: “the New England Journal of Medicine cautioned that “sweeping statements about the cost-saving potential of prevention, however, are overreaching.” It said that “although some preventive measures do save money, the vast majority reviewed in the health economics literature do not.” And a study released in December (2008) by the Congressional Budget Office found that increasing preventive care “could improve people’s health but would probably generate either modest reductions in the overall costs of health care or increases in such spending within a 10-year budgetary time frame.”
Obama Broken Promise on Iraq War # 2 2/25/9- Team Obama says it will remove troops from the battlefields in Iraq by August of 2010, 3 months later than his promised 16-month withdrawal of all troops. That broken promise could cost 100 lives. The new Obama word is that we won’t leave completely until 2011 sometime. That’s two to three years later than his promised “get out now” by the end of 2008 campaign talk. “The days of our open-ended commitment must come to a close,” he told the Senate, according to a Jan. 31, 2007, Washington Post article. Well, we he said he would get the troops out, he only meant he’d take troops actively involved in combat in certain areas on Tuesday afternoons out. We have to leave a “residual” force, we are told now. That force could be 50,000 troops strong and CodePink, MoveOn.org and top Dems are royally pissed off about this one! The Pink-PanTers actually believed him when he said he would get the troops out of Iraq and end the war. UPDATE 6/5/9: U.S. Socialist News and Liberal World Report: “He also plans to leave tens of thousands of troops behind to train Iraqis, protect U.S. interests, and root out al Qaeda insurgents. Many antiwar Democrats backed Obama in key primaries and caucuses last year because they believed he would end the war as soon as possible. Obama’s 3rd Pick for Commerce Broke Campaign Finance Laws (Appointment Scandal #22) 2/25/9 -Gary Locke was “fined a maximum $2,500 by state regulators after it admitted breaking campaign finance laws during two out-of-state fundraisers in 1996.” Even Obama jokes about his appointments: “I’m sure it’s not lost on anyone that we’ve tried this a couple of times.” Locke was breifly implicated in the ‘96 Clinton Chinese fundraising scandal, returned some checks, and was cleared of wrong-doing.
VP Biden Doesn’t Know Internet “Number!”- 2/25/9 - Another Gaffe for Joe Biden. Fox News reports “During a Feb. 25, 2009, interview on CBS’ “Early Show,” Biden encouraged viewers to visit a government-run Web site that tracks stimulus spending. When asked for the site’s web address, Biden could not remember the site’s “number.” “You know, I’m embarrassed. Do you know the Web site number?” he asked an aide standing out of view. “I should have it in front of me and I don’t. I’m actually embarrassed.”
Democrat Warns Obama about Constitutional Violations -2/25/9 America’s Watchtower: Democrat senator Robert Byrd, sent a letter to President Obama warning him that he is pushing the constitution’s limits in regards to Obama’s appointment of all of these “czars” to oversee issues (health reform, energy, climate change, urban issues) that are supposed to be handled by the legislative branch of the government. Fox News reports liberal U.S. Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin wants to know if all of these Czars have to answer to congress. “Feingold said, “It’s not good enough to simply say, ‘Well, George Bush did it too.’”…White House counsel Gregory Craig…said some presidents have used such special advisers, or czars, to undermine Congress, but “that is simply not the case in the current administration.” Feingold also was critical of the administration for declining to send a witness to the hearing. “The White House decided not to accept my invitation … to explain its position on the constitutional issues we will address today,” Feingold said, referring to the Senate’s role in confirming top officials. “That’s unfortunate. It’s also a bit ironic since one of the concerns that has been raised about these officials is that they will thwart congressional oversight of the executive branch.”

She’s also the Governor who threatened not to send out state tax refunds owed to citizens. UPDATE 4/14/9 AP reports Sebelius lowballed donations she received from late-term abortion provider “Dr.” George Tiller-the-Killer. She said it was $12,450 in 8 years, AP says there was more than $23,000 in just three of those years! UPDATE 4/21/9 Sebelius gets approved by a Senate subcommittee to protect the health of most, not all, Americans. Still needs full Senate approval. UPDATE 4/23/9 Michael Steele calls for Obama to withdraw Sebelius’ name from consideration the same day she vetoes a law that would have changed the late-term abortion rules in Kansas. UPDATE 429/9 Obama & Emanuel, not letting “a good crisis go to waste,” use the Swine Flu outbreak to scare wimpy republican Senators into confirming Sebelius. The Sebelius Rebelius Fails.
Obama’s Urban Czar Pay for Play Scandal (Appointment Scandal #24) - 3/1/9 The NY Daily News I-Team reports Adolfo Carrion, Jr., the man who is President Obama’s newly minted urban czar, “pocketed thousands of dollars in campaign cash from city developers whose projects he approved or funded with taxpayers’ money.” Amazing how most of these big appointment scandals go unreported as the national press tries to help its new President.
Obama’s Broken Earmark Pledge - 3/1/9 No big surprise here…Peter Orszag says Obama will “sign the $410 billion spending bill despite a campaign pledge that he would reject tailored budget requests that let lawmakers send money to their home states. Orszag said Obama would move ahead and overlook the time-tested tradition that lets officials divert millions at a time to pet projects.” From Rush Limbaugh: “He declared war on earmarks in a bill that’s got 9,000 of them! (laughing)… And he said this without bursting out laughing, too. He’s got to know when he says this, that it’s just BS. The only difference in his words and a bag of manure…was the bag. And he knows it.” UPDATE 3/8/9: Orszag repeats promise to approve the pork and earmarks. Obama’s War Savings Lie -3/2/9 He says he’ll save $1.5-Trillion in 10 years by cutting back the war in Iraq (and building up the war in Afghanistan??). For that to be true, the plan would have to have been to spend $150-billion a year through 2019…even though prior to Obama we agreed to get out of Iraq by 2011. It’s liberal ‘new math.’ UPDATE 5/7/9: The numbers still don’t add up. Fox reports: “And just as Congress is beginning work on a new war bill to fund military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan into the fall, Obama is sending up a $130 billion request to fund them next year. That figure may not be adequate considering the increase in the tempo of operations in Afghanistan.”

Obama Tax Cheat Scandal # 5 (And Appointment Scandal #25) Ron Kirk 3/2/9- nominated as U.S. Trade Rep, the latest Obama tax cheater owes an estimated $10,000 in back taxes from earlier in the decade. Fox says he has agreed to make his payments now so he can get the job. The trouble surrounds his claiming sports tickets as deductions and donating speaking fees while not counting the fees as income.
Obama Gift Blunder #1 - 3/2/9 Time magazine: “One reason for the secrecy might be that the gift seems markedly less generous and thoughtful than the presents taken to Washington by the Prime Minister.” - London’s Evening Standard newspaper, reporting on the controversy over a gift swap between Obama and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Obama gave Brown a “special collector’s box” of DVDs while Brown gave an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet and a first edition of the seven-volume biography of Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert, among other things. 10 Downing Street reportedly tried to keep Obama’s gift to the PM a secret.
Obama Stocks Stumble - 3/3/9 “What you’re now seeing is a profit and earnings ratios get to the point that buying stocks is a good thing if you have a long-term perspective on it,” said President Obama. Obama Secret Letter to Russia - 3/3/9 President Obama told Russia he was willing to sacrifice the safety of our European allies for a little help with Iran. PBS reports: “President Obama wrote a secret letter to Russian President, Dimitri Medvedev, saying that the U.S. will back off on plans to deploy a missile defense system in Eastern Europe if Russia will help deter Iran from developing long-range missiles. Medvedev indicated that he is willing to cooperate on the Iranian nuclear threat.”

Obama Bankruptcy Lie - ABCDEmocrat News: Obama kicks off his health care reform 3/5/9 with a mischaracterization of data. “The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds.” Simply unsupportable. The figure comes from a 2005 Harvard study saying that 54 percent of bankruptcies in 2001 were caused by health expenses. ABCDEmocrat News reviewed it and knocked it down. A more recent study, indicates in 2007 about eight-tenths of one percent of Americans lived in families that filed for bankruptcy as a result of medical costs. That rings a little less loudly than “one every 30 seconds.”

Obama says No to Banks that want to return Bailout Money! - The Milwaukee BizTimes reported 3/5/9 that US Bank CEO: “Richard Davis said his company plans to join a group of banks that will return funds provided by the federal government’s Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Davis told analysts in a conference call this morning that the Minneapolis-based company must first undergo a federal “stress test,” but it will then seek to return $6.6 billion in TARP funds it had received. The NY Post says Obama forced banks that didn’t want TARP money to take it, then added on stipulations about pay and government control after the fact. Secretly forced Bank of America to buy Merrill Lynch, then allowed the bank to be criticized for overpaying.
Hillary Doesn’t Understand 2-Party System - 3/6/9 Reuters reports Obama’s Sec. of State told the European Union: “I have never understood multiparty democracy. It is hard enough with two parties to come to any resolution, and I say this very respectfully, because I feel the same way about our own democracy, which has been around a lot longer than European democracy.” With Bush, the Reuters story would have been that he was stupid to say this. With Clinton however, Reuters says she was just “tired!”
Obama’s Homeland Security Chief Gets it Wrong 3/9/9- American Chronicle: Incredibly, Janet Napolitano downplayed the danger the drug cartels pose to the United States. She told legislators that the violence perpetrated by the cartels in Mexico has yet to make its way into this country.
Obama Lobbyist Scandal # 5 Jocelyn Frye 3/10/9- And Again a lobbyist for the no-lobbyists Team Obama. Jocelyn Frye got a waiver to be a “senior official” to First Lady, Michaelle Obama.
Obama Lobbyist Scandal # 6 Cecilia Munoz 3/10/9- Another Lobbyist for the still-no-lobbyists Obama Administration. Cecilia Munoz got a waiver to be director of governmental affairs. And with how many affairs these politicians have, she likely will be busy. (Oh, C’mon….that was too funny!). UPDATE 4/22/9 Fox Reports a top Obama adviser said “the brakes were applied after the third waiver (for Munoz) was issued, saying the White House feared it was on “kind of a slippery slope. You learn from your experiences.”The question that had been raised at that point, the adviser said was, “Are we unwittingly going down a road we shouldn’t be?”
Obama Transparency Lie on Bank Bailouts 3/10/9- Another lie from Barack Obama. Remember the bit about being transparent? Tim the Tax Cheat Geithner and Ben the Fed Reserve Chair Bernanke both refuse to tell the American people which banks got bailout money and how much was paid for assets. They say that would be too hard! Melanie Sloan from Citizens for Responsibility & Ethics in Washington told Fox News: “It’s taxpayer dollars, and we as taxpayers then have a right to know where that money is going,” she said. “And I just can’t understand why there should be any secrecy about that.”

Fox Business reports emails prove the US Treasury knew about the AIG bonuses last November. Rush Limbaugh says (see video here) a democrat congressmen asked Geithner about the bonuses on March 3rd! So Geithner and Team Obama’s street gang knew about this at least one week earlier than they say. The scheme involved adding non-existent employees, or “ghost workers”,” to the city payroll. Payments were allegedly made to those “workers.” After the arrests, Kundra took a leavefrom his new federal post. God forbid! What kind of society would give them “alternatives?!” The information had to be given to women 18 hours before the procedure, requiring them to make two visits to the doctor’s office to obtain the procedure. The Hamilton Pro-Abortion decision was overturned on appeal. In 2005, the former ACLU Board member ruled the daily invocation at the Indiana House too often referred to Jesus Christ and a Christian god, in violation of the Constitution, which forbids the government to show preference for any religious denomination. That Hamilton decision also was overturned on appeal. Obama said next time (it’s always next time with him), he will talk with republicans first because he wants to “put the confirmation wars behind us.” The ‘wars’ are the ones Obama took part in when he voted against John Roberts and Samuel Alito.

His administration will propose…a “resolution authority” that would have powers similar to those of the FDIC, which can seize control of banks, take over bad assets and sell good ones.” No details (of course) on how they would pay for such a plan.

Obama Plans to Help Irresponsible Homeowners- The Prez claims his housing bailout helps “responsible homeowners” stay in their homes. His team disagrees. Fed Chair Bernanke says “it means assistance will go to some who should have known better than to get in over their heads.” THe FDIC chair says its impractical to think they could examine every delinquent loan and weed out those taken by people who overstated their income or assets to get a mortgage they couldn’t afford.

Heck, for that kind of money he’ll represent Gitmo Guys too!

Obama Wants to Control the Internet! - 4/6/9 Team Obama proposes the Office of National Cybersecurity Advisor, an arm of Obama’s executive branch, that would have vast power to monitor and control Internet traffic to “protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure.” That is “rattling some civil libertarians,” says the Obama File. “The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 (.pdf) gives the president the ability to “declare a cybersecurity emergency” and shut down or limit Internet traffic in any “critical” information network “in the interest of national security.” The bill does not define a critical information network or a cybersecurity emergency. That definition would be left to Obama. The bill also grants the Secretary of Commerce “access to all relevant data concerning [critical] networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access.” This means he or she can monitor or access any data on private or public networks without regard to privacy laws. Drino Olympia Snowe is helping Obama (again) with the bill. Obama Appointment Scandal #40 - Dawn Johnsen - his nominee to head the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel once compared “pregnancy” with slavery. Stephen Clark at Fox News reports: When Johnsen was a lawyer for the National Abortion ‘Rights’ Action League, she cited a footnote that said forcing women to bear children was “disturbingly suggestive of involuntary servitude, prohibited by the 13th Amendment, in that forced pregnancy requires a woman to provide continuous physical service to the fetus in order to further the state’s asserted interest.” Wimpy republicans might (don’t hold your breath) actually try to fight this confirmation. Johnsen said she merely suggested “an analogy” (!!!) in the footnote and “never believed the 13th Amendment had any role” in the abortion issue! Solid bull from a solid liberbull. UPDATE 9/18/9: Johnsen is named to “The President’s Top 10″ by Sean Hannity! He points out that another person on the Obama Appointment Scandals List, Acorn fundraiser David Hamilton, is her brother-in-law! Now, Obama spits on Catholics & appoints a Pope-Hating, Gay, Liberal to a committee on…faith! Knox, a director at the Rights for Gay Humans Campaign in D.C., blasted bishops for pushing to make same-sex marriage unconstitutional (Prop. 8 in CA), called the Knights of Columbus “foot soldiers of a discredited army of oppression,” and said bishops and Pope Benedict are “discredited leaders.” Fox Reports Catholic League President William Donahue knows Knox is not simply a critic; “He’s insulting. He used disdainful, disparaging terms to talk about the pope and the Catholic hierarchy. If someone were appointed using that language about homosexuals, he would be thrown out.” Amen to that. Amen.

Bush was president…Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, acknowledged Obama has been critical of Bush’s use of similar special legislation to pay for the wars. He said it was needed this time because the money will be required by summer, before Congress is likely to complete its normal appropriations process. “This will be the last supplemental for Iraq and Afghanistan. The process by which this has been funded over the course of the past many years, the president has discussed and will change,” Gibbs said.” Just not yet. Just like he’ll stop pork spending…just not yet. The man is a fraud. Now that he’s not just playing president on TV, the job suddenly looks different. No doubt the anti-war left will be in the streets tomorrow protesting…then again…
Obama Broken Promise on Iraq War # 3 - 4/9/9 Team Obama promised to get our troops out of Iraq. Now, the Times of London reports: Al Qaeda actions in 2 Iraq cities could keep combat troops engaged beyond the June 30th, 2009 deadline for their withdrawal. In fact, troop numbers in Mosul and Baqubah could rise rather than fall if necessary, General Ray Odierno told The Times in his first British interview since taking over from General David Petraeus. “Any delay would be a potential setback for President Obama, who has pledged to withdraw all combat forces from Iraq by August 2010 as he switches his focus to Afghanistan.” Strange. I remember the campaign promises about getting out of Iraq, but I don’t remember the campaign talk about stepping up the war in Afghanistan. Must just be my memory.
