Yep metallic and Gun n’ Roses killed hair bands. Though I did love some of those hair bands I really loved GNR.
I love his work. I’m sorry he died young.
Feel free. I use that with most entertainers.
I have to Metallica was relatively unknown until 1990, when "One" hit MTV and "...and Justice for All" hit the store shelves. Sure, the serious music fans knew about them all the way back to "Kill 'em All" and "Ride the Lightning," but most folks in the mainstream hadn't ever heard of them.
Guns n' Roses, on the other hand, released Appetite for Destruction in 1987 and it broke through big in 1988....two full years before Metallica 'broke' into the mainstream.
Regardless though, I love both bands' music.
He wasn’t just spoiled. He was mental.
to much LSD. Too much Marijuana...
Too many crack whores, you know the drill...
I don’t think either was Kurt’s drug of choice. His problem was a major herion addiction that he shared with his wife.

Possible *ping* of interest.
but most folks in the mainstream hadn't ever heard of them.
Which is my point. All this stuff about Cobain "changing" music is pure bs. The only thing that changes is what the mainstream is buying at a particular instant. Nirvana brought nothing new to the table. They were the flavor of the month, ordained by trendoid nerds. And then the mainstream moved onto something else. What did Nirvana do that hadn't already been done? Answer: nothing. Although I do give Cobain credit for blowing his head off. At least that was original for a rock star.
