how do you copy the internet firefox bookmarks to a cd?
thanks.
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Export HTML.
Open the Bookmarks Manager. (Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks.) Click Import and Backup, then Backup, then select the directory you want to deposit your backup file in.
Then burn that file to CD.
BTW, to import the bookmarks, just repeat the process, except instead of selecting Backup, select Import.
Bookmarks- Organize Bookmarks- Import and Backup- Export HTML
You can do it in a number of ways but the simplest to do is simply highlight them in the bookmarks utility, copy them, paste them into notepad, wordpad or someother word processor and then copy them from there to a CD or DVD. I keep all of mine on an external USB drive(16 GB)along with other pertinent data I don’t want to lose if something happens to my HDD or computer.
The best way to manage bookmarks, if you use Firefox, is to download the add-on Xmarks. You create a user id, and it saves all your bookmarks on a server, in the cloud so to speak. Then, when you use another computer, when you browse with Firefox, you log on with that ID and all your bookmarks magically appear. During a given week, I might use 5 different computers, and all have the same bookmarks on them. When you add bookmarks on any of your computers, they get saved to the server, and then show up on your other computers the next time you use them. I love it, as I used to not be able to find bookmarks because I could not remember which computer had them.
another question. How do you get rid of unwanted bookmarks except one at a time ? Thanks
There are probably easier ways, but when I expert, I convert it into a .txt file then just delete them like a text doc (which is what you get), then reimport.
Cha-ching! First addon I add on when I set up a computer.
thank you.
I believe when you are in the manage bookmarks menu, you can control + click on bookmarks to select more than one at a time, then hit delete.
