CNN's hilariously lame defense of Mao-Loving White House Advisor Anita Dunn
Patriot Room ^ | October 17, 2009 | Bill Dupray

Posted on 10/17/2009 6:16:13 AM PDT by Bill Dupray

CNN just can't abide people telling anyone the truth about how Obama's cronies are either admitted Communists, like the disgraced Van Jones, or just think Commies are awesome, like Anita Dunn. Comrade Dunn is the White House Communication Director who gave what appeared to be a commencement speech wherein she clearly states that Mao Tse-tung is one of her political heroes. She goes on a long, serious discussion explaining exactly why Chairman Mao was so wise and how his wisdom could guide her audience in their future endeavors.

[From wikipedia: Mao himself had no scruples about the taking of human life, and went so far as to suggest that the sign of a true revolutionary was his desire to kill: “This man Hitler was even more ferocious. The more ferocious the better, don’t you think? The more people you kill, the more revolutionary you are.”]

I’m sure that Mao is an inspiration to a lot of people in the White House these days.

The issue isn’t what Anita Dunn has actually said about Mao. The real issue is what Rich Sanchez wishes Rush Limbaugh had said and how Rush is going to prove he never said it.

The obvious follow-up to her, if she was being “ironic” in referencing Mao, was she equally “tongue-in -cheek” (Ho-ho!) in referring to Mother Teresa in the same breath? And if high-school educated Beck missed the irony, how many of the congregated high school seniors, many of whom supposedly don’t know George Washington was the first President, likewise missed it?

This happened at a Catholic High School. Since when does any school invite a person like her to speak? I have never heard of that before.

I would never allow my high schooler to listen to a speaker that I didn't vet. That the school picked this woman speaks volumes about the school.

I believe that people will eventually come around. They may have to be hit over the head a dozen times with it, but they’ll eventually catch on.

BTW, few people know that well over a hundred million people have died under Communism last century. Don’t know why this isn’t more mainstream knowledge.

I thought BOTH were issues.

One involves a potential lawsuit and the other doesn’t.

But the Dunn praising of Mao to HS students shows another person close to Obama with such radical, revolutionary views that she couldn’t help but push them on young people.

And she is in charge of attacking Fox News (among other subversive activities).

Her Mao quote: He said, “You fight YOUR war, I’ll fight MINE”, when telling skeptics not to worry, he would find a way no one had yet imagined to take over all of China.

That is what is now being applied to the United States of America.

That is a strange combination of role models, isn't it? I noticed in the background of the video is a cross - could Dunn have been speaking at a Catholic school? Maybe she just threw in Mother Teresa to give herself some credibility.

Still, it begs the question - why is this the first we are hearing about this speech? Why no upset parents or students? Where was this speech given?

Watch the video. There is neither a trace nor hint of irony. Clearly she said that Mao and Mother Teresa were her two favorite “political philosophers”, whatever that means.

Hitler said a lot of reasonable things that I agree with, for instance he said that when politics and religion mix it is to the detriment of both. I would hardly say that Hitler is one of my favorite political philosophers.

She was quoting Mao as telling skeptics within the movement, “You fight your war, I’ll fight mine.” Meaning that although he faced long odds, he was not about to quit. There are a lot of people who are single minded and bull headed. Big whoop, as they say. Most of Mao’s quotes are, imho, wrongheaded or pedestrian or both. This one only aspires to be pedestrian. The entire Dunn speech, at least the clip on Beck’s show, was pretty much standard issue, boilerplate high school commencement platitudes, outside of the bizarre embrace of one of history’s most blood thirsty tyrants.

The shocking thing is that of all the qualified grifters, backslappers, snake oil peddlers, unctuous used car salesmen, carney barkers and conmen buzzing around the steaming pile that is the Democratic Party, Obama chose this freak show specimen as the mouthpiece for his administration. It’s as if the Czar of all Russias chose a rag picker for an important diplomatic errand.

Obama’s lawyer dominates Democratic money machine

DNC leader the man to see

By Matthew Mosk

In the heat of the 2008 Democratic primary campaign, when members of candidate Barack Obama’s staff began to fret about the potential for illegal attempts to intimidate voters on Election Day in Nevada, the campaign’s general counsel calmly told everyone on a staff conference call to settle down.

Don’t worry, lawyer Robert Bauer is said to have counseled. If necessary, the campaign will simply call the local authorities and have the opposition forces arrested.

That wasn’t really Mr. Bauer’s plan, of course. But the dose of bravado became such a rallying point, campaign staffers printed up T-shirt’s with the quote, “We may have to have some people arrested” on the back. On the front it read, “I (heart) Bob Bauer.”

There were many Washington insiders who saw their stars rise with Mr. Obama’s election 10 months ago. But few have soared as high or shone as brightly as Mr. Bauer.

(snip)

He has had another reason to proceed with more caution. His wife, veteran political strategist Anita Dunn, was tapped to be Mr. Obama’s communications director.

(snip)

Ya’ll don’t get it. It’s perfectly reasonable for a person to revere Mao—so long as that person pretends he was not a mass murderer. It’s like Ted Kenney, Lion of the Senate. He was a great man so long as we pretend he was not a drunken philander who drove his car—and a female staffer— off a bridge and into the water. Then he courageously abandoned her to drown. Then he did not report his crime for over 8 hours.

Demrats and Marxists do a lot of pretending. The biggest one is trying take America down the Marxist path—a path that has failed everytime it’s been tried. Obama and his crowd simply pretend that none of that happened.

I think Mother Teresa is there to make them “the same” or show that “in some ways” there is no difference between the two. Remember when they defended Clinton by saying that other Presidents had done the same thing? What a terrible message to young people: figure out what you want and do whatever it takes to get there.....WITHOUT REGARD TO THE MERITS OF WHAT YOU WANT! So if you want fame and have to become a clever serial murderer to get fame, go for it? These smart people are very stupid.

Because the socialists in power and in-waiting don’t want it generally known, it is an “inconvenient” fact.

They don’t teach it in the schools and most Americans don’t sit around the dinner table discussing the evils of such systems of government.

And of course, it will be different when THEY do it.

Here’s a link to an amazing 20 minute clip from Beck’s 10/15/09 show. I don’t think Beck has ever been better. This is a must-see video, folks. She (White House “Communications Director”/”Fox News is a research arm of the GOP” Anita Dunn) is actually trying to “enlighten” high school students at some religious school to the ways in which Mao overcame seemingly insurmountable odds in defeating the military in his communist revolution.

Mao Takes Manhattan: Empire State Building Goes Red and Yellow for China
September 30, 2009

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the People's Republic of China under Communist rule and Mao's 1949 revolution, the Chinese will hold a military parade in Beijing on Thursday of unparalleled size -- 5,000 soldiers, 43,000 fireworks and a display of 52 new weapons -- followed by a civilian parade of 100,000 marchers and 60 floats, many chanting new nationalistic mantras coined by the Chinese government for the occasion.

For a nation that worships Mao, and the path of development and prosperity the Chinese people believe he charted, nothing less would do to commemorate its 60th anniversary.

But when it comes to the commemoration of China's 60th anniversary in the U.S., perhaps we could -- and should -- expect a little less.

Wednesday night in New York City, the Empire State Building will illumine its familiar spire with red and yellow lights in honor of Communist China. The Communism-themed color scheme will stay lit through Thursday night, much to the delight of China's consular officials, who were on hand for a ceremony in the lobby of the iconic building Wednesday morning, and to the acute dismay of the dozen or so protesters outside, and to many Americans who question whether honoring China's Communist revolution here is at all appropriate.

Yup. The usual argument for why Communism failed — they just didn’t do it right... we need to give it another chance.

Communism is fundamentally flawed — it presumes that humans will always be good and can be trusted with unchecked power.
