Six Degrees of Separation-Obama, Ayers, and the Inextricable Ties that Bind

In reality, it was during the 1980’s that members of the Weather Underground were involved in the murder of three police officers, the murder of a Brinks armored truck driver, and the wounding of his partner. I find it difficult to believe Obama never heard of this incident, nor met the man who was involved up to his eyeballs and which occurred less than 20 miles from the University both he and Ayers attended. I will allow you to decide what you believe.

Is the association between Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and Barack Obama as innocent as the media and the President’s people would like you to believe? Are Ayers and Dohrn reformed radicals, whose only purpose in life at this moment, is higher education in America? Have they repented and since condemned their actions and the crimes they committed, as well as those carried out by their disciples, The Weather Underground? Perusing their activities during their “radical” days of domestic terrorism, as well as their more recent activities is warranted, because I in no way believe in their purported metamorphosis from radical Communist to exalted educators.

Barack Obama and Bill Ayers, leader of the radical Weather Underground, both attended Columbia University in New York in the early 1980’s, during a time the Weather Underground was still active in the role of Communist terrorists. It seems unusual that they never met, considering how close Obama and Ayers later became. Close enough, in fact, that it seems Ayers held the celebration to launch Obama into politics.

October 20, 1981, Nanuet, New York: Kathy Boudin dropped her infant son, Chesa off with a babysitter, and proceeded to pick up a U-Haul truck. I’m certain anyone observing this dark haired, 38 year old woman behind the wheel of that truck would assume she was in the process of changing residences, the obvious occupation of anyone driving a moving truck. They would be dead wrong, as several police officers discovered. Kathy Boudin, born May 19, 1943 in Greenwich Village, New York to a prominent Jewish family, came from a long line of leftist ancestors. Her father, attorney Leonard Boudin, represented such illustrious clients as Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro and Soviet spy Judith Coplon, and whose partner Victor Rabinowitz, was a member of the Communist Party between 1942 through the early 1960’s. Her uncle, Louis Boudonovitch Boudin was a famous Marxist theorist. Her brother Michael is a judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

In 1970, Kathy Boudin was out on bond for her actions during the Days of Rage in Chicago, headed by Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn , when she survived an accidental detonation of a nail bomb intended for a soldiers’ dance in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Killed in the explosion were Ayers’ close friend Terry Robins, Ayers girlfriend Diana Oughton, and member Ted Gold. Some say the bomb may have been intended to destroy the library at Columbia University, where both Obama and Ayers attended graduate school a decade later. Irony at its finest.

Which brings us back to the day of the Brinks robbery. While Boudin waited in an adjacent parking lot about a half mile away, members of the Black Liberation Army and other members of the Weather Underground ambushed two Brinks Armored Truck guards as they exited the Nanuet Mall carrying bags of money. Swarming from a van, the terrorists ambushed the guards, immediately firing two shotgun blasts into the bulletproof windshield, while another thug fired off rounds from an M16. Another member who had been sitting inconspicuously on a bus stop bench, joined in the fray. Guard Peter Paige was killed instantly, while Joe Trombino sustained several blasts to the shoulder and arm, which was nearly severed in the attack. He screamed, “I’ve got no arm!” before losing consciousness while the terrorists grabbed 6 bags of money containing $1.6 million and sped away. Sadly, Joe Trombino was killed 20 years later in the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. He was 68, and was killed in the second attack by terrorists he faced in his lifetime.

Less than half a mile away from the scene of the crime, a college student watched from her living room window as a red van and a small Honda pulled into the parking lot across from her residence, and heavily armed men carrying rifles and bags out of the van, entered the U-Haul truck and Honda, and race away. She alerted the police, and they were in pursuit.

On the New York State Thruway, policemen Edward O’Grady, Waverly Brown, Brian Lennon, and Artie Keenan stopped a U-Haul truck and a yellow Honda that was following. Approaching the U-Haul, they noticed a white man(the father of her 14 month old child David Gilbert) and woman in the cab. Since the assailants in the armored truck heist were all reported to be black, they considered they had the wrong vehicle. Little did they know that the Weather Underground had planned it that way. When Boudin said, “Please, what’s wrong?” Feigning ignorance she wheedled, “Can’t you put your guns away?”When the police officers let their guard down, the roll up door of the truck opened and the six terrorists hiding in the back emerged wearing body armor, firing with shotguns and assault rifles.

Officer Brown was hit several times immediately, and collapsed on the road, whereby one of the terrorists calmly fired several rounds into him with a 9 mm handgun, killing him in cold blood. Officer O’Grady was able to empty his clip before he too was gunned down. He died on the operating table an hour later. Officer Keenan was shot in the leg, but managed to live through the ordeal. Brian Lennon was caught in his cruiser, unable to escape because O’Grady’s body was blocking his escape, wedged against the driver door. He watched as the terrorists scattered, jumping into the Honda or carjacking motorists to get away. Boudin tried to flee on foot but was captured a short time later.

At the end of a frantic car chase, David Gilbert, and Judy Clark, co-founders of the Weather Underground with Ayers and Dohrn, were captured after they crashed their getaway car. Clark and Gilbert were arrested along with two accomplices in a vehicle with $800,000 from the heist and a 9 mm handgun.

Because the Weather Underground had assembled a complicated network of terrorists, the FBI had no way of knowing who was involved other than those apprehended, and they were at a loss how to locate the others involved. Fortunately, the 17 year old son of a local fireman was able to jot down the license plate number of one of the fleeing vehicles. When the plate was traced, it led the FBI to a veritable thieves den, except these thieves were preparing for guerrilla warfare against their own country.

In East Orange, New Jersey, they found the terrorists’ lair, complete with bombs, an arsenal of guns, a sophisticated counterfeit identification operation, hit lists of politicians and businessmen set to be assassinated or kidnapped, and plans for their bombings. The apartment belonged to Marylin Buck, another Weatherman who had been serving ten years when she walked away from furlough. In addition, the agents found a paper with an address in Mt. Vernon, NY, which was approximately 20 miles from the Brinks job. Found at that address were bloody clothing, ski masks, ammunition, and more guns. Buck had accidentally shot herself in the leg during the police shoot out. Staking the address out, all license plates seen at the residence were entered into a database, which led to Samuel Smith and Sekou Odinga, and another shootout that left Smith dead and Odinga under arrest. Buck was arrested in 1985 and Williams Shakur, the robbery ringleader in 1986.

Boudin was represented at trial by noted leftist attorney Len Weinglass, who arranged a plea deal which netted Kathy Boudin 20 years behind bars. She was paroled August 20, 2003 and is this day a free woman. But what does this have to do with Obama, other than perhaps a peripheral association to Ayers and Dohrn? Ask yourself what happened to Boudin and Gilbert’s son, Chesa. Why, Ayers and Dohrn became his legal guardian, eventually adopting him, and indoctrinating Kathy Boudin’s son into their communist/terrorist lifestyle. Come on now, you might say, isn’t that going a little far? Not far enough, I assure you. Chesa Boudin is highly intelligent, a Rhodes Scholar in fact, and has written several books and tours as a lecturer, emphasizing his close ties to former terrorists and his open admiration of leftist dictators. Let’s start by examining some of his speeches or books, before we return to Ayers, specifically.

CHESA BOUDIN TO SPEAK AT AURARIA CAMPUS!

WHO: Chesa Jackson Gilbert Boudin is the son of left-wing radicals and Weather Underground members Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert. His parents were incarcerated when he was fourteen months old, leaving him to be raised by Weather Underground members Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers (who had then emerged from hiding). Dohrn and Ayers later adopted Boudin, but he retained a relationship with his birth mother and father. Boudin attended Yale University for his undergraduate years and attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar for graduate school. He speaks and writes regularly on the topic of children with incarcerated parents. He is a Latin Americanist, an anti-war activist, and a writer. He translated into English Understanding the Venezuelan Revolution: Hugo Chávez talks to Marta Harnecker published by Monthly Review Press in November 2005, and co-edited with Dan Berger and Kenyon Farrow Letters from Young Activists: Today’s Rebels Speak Out, published in November by Nation Books. His third book, The Venezuelan Revolution: 100 Questions and 100 Answers is his most recent book, published by Thunder’s Mouth Press in 2006.

The son of political prisoners? No, he’s the son of murdering terrorists. No matter how he attempts to glorify his parents, all four of them, they’re nothing but unrepentant killers. Bernadine Dohrn openly supported and exalted Charles Manson, while Ayers admits to being guilty of everything he was accused of, and when he was acquitted due to an illegal wiretap, he finally appreciated America. Remember this gem? “Guilty as hell, free as a bird. America is a great country.” His biological parents are both convicted murderers, not political prisoners, and his adopted parents are domestic terrorists free to walk the streets and indoctrinate not just their children, but yours as well.

Chesa Boudin is a blatant supporter of Hugo Chavez, and claims that his parents Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn were invited to Venezuela to lecture. He reports that a 2006 visit was Ayers’ fourth such foray, and that Ayers presented a documentary movie titled The Weather Underground. This movie glosses over and glorifies their bloodthirsty actions during their pinnacle of violence. Chesa says he translated both the movie and his father’s words. If Ayers and Dohrn claim they’re nothing more than conventional educators and they have repented of their formerly maniacal ways, why are they consistantly journeying to Venezuela to engage and endorse Chavez? Why do they brazenly support and worship enemies of the United States? What are their ultimate intentions regarding their support of Chavez?

In a 2006 speech to the “World Education Forum” in Caracas, Venezuela, Ayers vilifies the U.S. State Department, fawns all over Hugo Chavez, and claims his youngest son, Chesa Boudin is the proud author of a book on the Bolivarian Revolution, which he too supports. In addition, he states he brings greetings to Venezuela from its brothers and sisters in North America, who likewise support the revolution. He calls Luis Bonilla comrade. His entire speech can be found here. It seems atypical that such an esteemed figure in Obama’s life is making numerous sojourns to a country whose dictator has called America the most “murderous empire that has existed in the history of the world,” and that ” I hereby accuse the North American Empire of being the biggest menace to our planet.” The same man with a stranglehold on his country and his people. This is the man Ayers worships, and now he’s passing the torch to his son.

Perhaps Obama need not negotiate directly with Chavez, since the man who launched his political career is already clearly engaged. There are several things Bill Ayers can be called: Terrorist, Communist, Murderer, liberal. However the one that should keep Americans awake at night, is: Barack Obama’s Friend and Mentor. Bill Ayers is simply following in the footsteps of Leonard Boudin, and before him, Saul Alinsky, whose Playbook For Radicals is the bible by which they live. Within these families, you have attorneys, theorists, terrorists, authors, teachers, and a judge with an eye on the prize, I believe. Add one more, as well: President. They’ve followed Alinsky’s game plan from the beginning, and they’re proud to continue and promote the ideas of a Marxist, who called for violence against his own people, and to use any means necessary to achieve his goals. In the immortal words of Herr Alinsky:
“‘The organizer’s first job is to create the issues or problems,’ and ‘organizations must be based on many issues.’ The organizer ‘must first rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression. He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act. . . . An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent.’” Especially a community organizer, right?

Comrade Alinsky would be honored indeed to see how far-reaching his precepts have become; like the proverbial spider spinning his webs, those skeins are tightly entangled and distressingly pervasive, clinging dauntlessly to every corner of this country.
