People don’t complain anymore about Al Davis even. The only main beef with Rush now is his political views. Everything else is just an excuse.

If a player honestly believed that Rush or any other owner was racist, womanizer, manizer, alcoholic, etc ad nauseum, they should be allowed to refuse to be a part of that team without criticism. However as Mr. Smith said, in the end it’s about the money. If Jesse “Apologize” Jackson or Al Sharpton offered $6 million dollars a year to be a chauffeur, who wouldn’t have trouble turning that down?

Rush was correct about McNabb and the sports writers/commentators. He has never been as great as the sports media hyped. The same thing is now happening with the NASCAR on ABC, Jimmy Johnson, Mark Martin, Tony Stewart, or Jeff Gordon will be the champion when the season is over, but all you hear is Juan Pablo Montoya and how great he is, it was the same way when they had the IRL and it was Danica all the time.
Rush would be good for the NFL.

I love your analogy, spot on.

Having Keith Olbermann in the booth for SNFL is horrific, although I do prefer him doing sports than Marxist politics.

Most, not all, but most NFL players have proven that they will go where the money is (Free Agency) and the circumstances surrounding that team (ownership ect...) has no bearing on their decision.

If you pay, we'll play.

"IRL and it was Danica all the time."

Get ready for NASCAR and Danica. It's all but announced that she'll race in either some ARCA races, or perhaps the Truck Series, and maybe even in a Nationwide race - or two, next season. It's going to be ridiculous. She's one of the most over-hyped racers in history.

NASCAR will sell it’s soul to attract blacks to a sport very few care a wit about.

I am ambivalent about NASCAR but some of my employees adore it.

Agreed. Mau Smith, the head of the union, probably had one of the Dem writers write that statement. Obviously, the word “racist” had to be in there. Had to..

Yep. She's had just one win in around 75 (maybe a little less) starts. Montoya, who was an accomplished racer in open wheel had a decent rookie season, then had a sophomore slump, but despite the ridicuous "diversity" hype, it's clear he belongs there and he had the bona fides for ride. Hornish, who's a great racer, has struggled with the transition, which shows you how hard it really is.

Patrick, who is NOT a great racer, is only getting a ride because she's a woman. There are going to be a lot of men in the Nationwide series that are going to be pissed, especially if it looks like she'll get a full time ride in the big show - probably for Hendrick, no doubt. I'm predicting that she's going to have a very rough go at it.

That wasn’t what I was responding to. Integration of the NFL is what I was responding to. Dungee broke it open for black coaches to become head coaches. The rest of the NFL is over 65% black. Tony Dungee is a fanatastic human being. Bless him and all his endeavors

If the same principles applied to football as the rest of the workplace, white folks would have an EO complaint as football teams are not racially balanced. Geraldine Ferraro made a comment in the same vein about Obama that Rush made about McNabb and look how the lefties savaged her. McNabb is a good quarterback and if he was white, he would be just another good quarterback. Blacks should be very tired of the world going gaga just because they are black— fruits of affirmative action. Blacks make up 14 percent of the population and are over-represented on the football field. Were the vast majority of players white, the lefties would be going nuts complaining of discrimination. Fair is fair and talent is talent. MLK must be howling in his grave at the sad state of affairs in the black community today. How is that for integration?

But are you not playing the race card as well as Rush and Ferraro? I see this hypocrisy quite often nowadays. It's somehow legitimate for whites to claim, without concrete evidence, that a certain black person achieved a certain level of recognition because of their race, yet if a black person makes a similar claim about a white person, folks cry RACE CARD at the top of their lungs.

It’s not the race card when it’s the truth. What is false about about what Geraldine or Rush said? If everything about Obama was the same except he was white, there’s no way in hell he would’ve been elected President. As for McNabb, if he was white, he’s essentially be Matt Hasselbeck.

Uhm, your “truth” is no more truth that Jimmy Carter’s “truth”. What it really is is your opinion, speculation, perception, etc. None of these equate to “truth”.

What is the truth is that there is an enormous amount of hypocrisy among Freepers and Freepers throw around the race card as much as Sharpton and Jackson. But somehow, it is valid when done by whites toward blacks and minorities. Why is that?

McNabb’s popularity has much to do with his personality. He’s goofy and likeable along with being good. There have been multiple black quarterbacks that were at least as good as him and even better. So why the alleged desire for him to be a top black quarterback when we actually have had some? Warren Moon, Doug Williams, Steve McNair, Michael Vick, etc. So why would McNabb be the viewed as some sort of “black hope”? It makes no sense.

I’m not exactly sure why they picked him out, but they did. Maybe it’s because he’s in Philly and some of those others were in smaller markets. I have to admit, I heard Rush’s comment live and absoultely agreed with it and didn’t understand the firestorm.

My statement about McNabb was opinion. What Ferraro said about Obama might not be a hard fact, but it’s pretty darn close. In the South Carolina primary, Obama beat Hillary among black voters 78-19 and other states had similar results. You could argue that Obama’s rhetoric won them over, and there’s certainly a lot of truth to that, but John Edwards, under the guidance of David Axelrod, used almost identical rhetoric four years earlier and finished a distant second in the primaries. There was also a tremendous amount of white guilt.

I’ve read some of your posts and you seem to have an agenda and it doesn’t appear to be conservative. Virtually all of your posts relate to race. Your parsing of Jimmy Carter’s words was disgusting. The man is a sanctimonious fraud who wouldn’t know the truth if it bit him on the ass. Do you really think that Rush Limbaugh is a racist? I don’t think a racist would a black man as his call screener and friend, nor would he have black man to guest host for him several times a year for probably fifteen years now.

don’t follow nascar or irl or indy car. F1 only...dating back to Fangio, 5 time World Grand Prix Champion, (with 4 or 5 different teams..don’t remember just how many for sure.), then came clark, stewart and lauda. jpm couldn’t come close to even holding those men’s gloves. michael can not be judged against those men imho. he is/was/still my favorite driver but the saftey issues regarding the regs/rules/cars etc. back then was horrible! how many of the ‘76 on drivers could face what the men prior to that did? maybe they could, subjective I know. it just pisses me off when those old timers with balls the size of basketballs are given the short shift. no offense meant to your post....I just went off on an F1 rant!!!

I didn’t call Rush a racist. I said that he played the race card. Now you name Rush’s black acquaintances as evidence of him not being racist, yet Obama’s mother and grandparents are white. How could he be racist? Folks here routinely call him racist. Folks here a quick to call black people racist.

I never understood how black bashing is conservative? I am anti-abortion, anti-taxes, anti-gay marriage, anti-affirmative action, etc. etc. So showing the ridiculousness of the widespread black bashing on this site makes me non-conservative? Have you read posts by Mac from Cleveland? Guy views the movie “Birth of a Nation” as and accurate portrayal of black people.

Rush Limbaugh is friends with Charles Murray who writes about his view that me and my children are innately intellectually inferior. How is his friendship with Murray any worse than Obama’s relationship with Wright? If you really look closely and look at things from the point of view of black Americans, it should be easy to understand why most don’t want to be Republican even if they are conservative. Why join a group that openly shows disdain for you? Why join a party that seems to be the party that overt white racists are most inclined to join?

What type of black people are liked here? Pastor James David Manning. You have Freepers cheering him as he expresses the desire for whites to go to black communities and riot. Freepers like the idea of my house being burned down and my family placed in mortal danger? I think that their support of him is disgusting.

Obama threw his white relatives under the bus. Also, look at things from the point of view of a white, conservative Republican. We see a race that overwhelmingly supports people that I view as my enemy. I find blacks strong support of Democrats who have enacted policies that have hurt them disgusting. When people think I’m racist for being anti-Obama, I just ask them if they voted for Ken Blackwell, because I was a strong supporter of his. As for Murray, he never said that blacks have a lower IQ. Murray specifically stated that it remains unsolved. Even if he did say it, you can’t blame someone for at least thinking for a split second that they have lower IQs when they continuously vote for candidates who are no good for them or any other decent Americans.
