Top 10 List of things funnier than SNL's Opening Skit
Ruby Slippers ^ | 10/11/09 | Mary Sue

Last week's SNL opener was a hopeful start for those of us who believed the crew at SNL would never find anything humorous about the Obama presidency.   This week they were handed a golden  premise on a Nobel Prize platter and fell flat.  Just Karl of Patterico and Green Room fame saw it coming 13 hours before air time.  That alone was funnier than anything in the skit.  After a long look around conservative websites, I have come to the conclusion we know how to spot humor and how to write it.  Here is a top ten list that I have put together, the positioning was a judgment call.    I am sure everyone will have their own interpretation of the funniest.   They were all funnier than SNL, so without further ado ........... drumroll please!

Number 10: Nobel Peace Prize Generator

Number 9: Obama vows at gay dinner he will end "don't ask don't tell", Jake Tapper twitters about strange time warps in "breaking news"

I just don’t think SNL has earned so much attention from FR.

I was hoping to see something on SNL last night about the Nobel Misplaced Prize but in fairness to SNL, I doubt they had enough time.

OhMyGosh! I WON!!! I’d like to thank Bjorn and Sven and Nils and Lars and Olga and any other Scandanavian Leftist that accidentally let the prize slip into non-liberal hands.

THAT was HILARIOUS!!!

Everyone, I highly recommend a click on the Ruby Slippers link, and then at that site, a click on all of the items (they're not highlighted, so pass the cursor over them and click to see what the "Nobel Peace Prize Generator" and such are). It is absolutely hilarious, though I was only able to stomach Meridith Viera being a creepy horny old woman with a handsome young fighter pilot for about 30 seconds ... Great Scott, she made William Shatner at his lecherous worst look like Mr. Rodgers!!! HILARIOUS!!!

Thanks again, R Slippers, for a good chuckle with your excellent compilation!

The video at #8 was the funniest thing I’ve seen on TV since the last South Park episode. She was 100% smitten with the guy and made a fool of herself. But it was great to watch. You can’t write that in a script, it has to be spontaneous.

Everyone needs to watch it.

You're a better man than I ... (er ... okay, I'm a woman!) ... that video made my skin crawl ... Lord I pray I never become such a lech in old aged desperation (Meredith ain't no spring chicken and she was never much of a babe to begin with), because I love men, I really do, but I try to be more ladylike about it!!!

Like I posted, I could only watch about 30 seconds, and seeing the poor guy squirming was too much. CAN YOU IMAGINE if the sexes were reversed, and it was a man doing that to a woman conestant? Yech!!!

Thanks Finny,

Meredith was a lech I agree. I thought it was funny though because she would be outraged if a man acted like that but there she was giving someone like Shatner a run for their money.

I thought Scott Baio was pretty hilarious on the cash for clunkers. Was I the only one who didn’t know he was a Beck fan and a conservative?

Yeah, and the comparison to Shatner is richer because with him, he’s at least half-spoofing himself. With Meredith, it was no spoof! Gyechh!
