Here is video of Republican Leaders reacting to a bipartisan Congressional Meeting today with President Obama at the White House to talk about future strategy in Afghanistan.
House Minority Leader John Boehner went first, saying he was "hopeful" Obama would get this decision right, and that he believed Obama really did want their input.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell then spoke and said he was glad Obama had the best group of military leaders possible around him, and he hoped Obama would heed their advice.
Sen. John McCain then spoke and said it is clear that "time is not on our side" in Afghanistan. McCain said the strategy by military leaders worked in Iraq, and should therefore be listened to by President Obama in determining the future of our strategy in Afghanistan.
NOTE: Of course, McCain's comment was a zinger aimed at Obama and the Democrats who almost uniformly got it wrong in Iraq by opposing the "Surge Strategy" there, and by declaring defeat. McCain is right - Obama should listen to those who got it right in Iraq so we can get it right in Afghanistan. . . . (VIDEO)

Ole John, the talking head, never gives up...unless it’s a presidential election...
So who gives a flying fig about what McCain thinks about ANYTHING! He needs to go home and stay there and shut up.
Didn’t he tell us what a wonderful president the bam would make.
Why yes. He did.
McCain worked hard to assure Obama’s victory, so he feels like he is entitled to give him advice. Poor John doesn’t realize that Obama thinks him a fool, or that Obama is his own god, and doesn’t need the advise of media hounds.
McCain is right, of course, but having said that, his advice falls on deaf ears within the Barry administration. They are already kicking McChrystal under the bus....
Tell McDemocrat to retire and STFU. Loser.
Legitimate question(s), but your not going to get a big “W” in Afghanistan with the current ROE, despite sending an additional 40,000 troops, IMHO.
For me, it depends.
If we are going to let the Generals in the field fight the war, like a war, and if we are going to give them what they need and have asked for, then we should stay for the reasons you have listed and more.
If Obama is going to run the war based on guidance from that idiot Biden and the libs, and if he’s not going to give our Generals what they need and have asked for, then screw this game-— get our folks out, NOW.
For Obama, this has nothing to do with winning the war, this has nothing to do with our security, this has everything to do with politics and himself. His numbers are down, so he sees that he needs to change something.
He exists for the libs and nobody else. He does not represent America and he couldn’t care less what you or I think about any of this. I don’t know about you, but I am just a white cracker, so I am a racist and for now, a man without a country.
My country was stolen, defiled and corrupted by the filth that Traitor in Chief represents, but I may be able to help take it back someday.
So there you go... it depends.
very good point about ROE. Can’t fight with your hands tied.
