VIDEO: SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE SKIT SCORCHES OBAMA
THE FREEDOM POST ^ | October 4, 2009 | TheCapitalist

Hats off to Saturday Night Live for their hilarious Obama skit last night. SNL actor Fred Armisen, in spite of performing a lousy impersonation, totally annihilated Obama for his lack of accomplishments during his nine months in the Oval Office thus far.

Funny how SNL seems a lot more amusing now than during the last administration when it picked on the president.

I think that while it looked as if they were mocking him, they were subliminally mocking us, saying “you were so worried that he was going to do radical things, but it has happened, you paranoid worry-worts.” If they really wanted to mock him, they would have had a skit about ACORN.

Just because he’s a somewhat black actor he can be 0bama? Isn’t that racist since it wasn’t really an impersonation?

Well, It seems to me SNL was skewering him for not enacting his leftists agenda.

An observation: SNL isn’t funny. I haven’t watched it for years and clips like this affirm my decision.

There has been a few good seasons but 99% of SNL seemed to tailored to drug addicts and ankle biters.

Of course, he has been a failure, both from the right and the left. But, the news here is, even with great material like this President, SNL still isn't funny.

Too bad they didn't use someone that was actually funny in this skit.

This guy is as funny as a criminal interrogator.

The actor is not black and he always plays nObama on SNL. He usually sounds and looks more like nObama than he did in this skit.

I have been a (mostly) faithful SNL watcher since the beginning. The show has had years when they were funny and years when they were worse than bad. From what I have seen this year is going to be a bad one.

That actor sucks. Obama normally speaks choppy because every time you see him he is trying to give you the impression that he is not "reading" when in fact he is. SNL should hire someone that can mock Republicans and Democrats and not be so PC. Because the show is a subsidiary of the Democrat party is why it sucks.

SNL ceased being funny about 10 years ago.

That actor usually does a MUCH better job of sounding like nObama. He is probably a flaming liberal and when he was told he had to do that skit he rebelled and refused to sound like him.

In analyzing the purpose and effectiveness of this skit, it is important to remember that most Americans are as stupid as sheep. They voted for Obama not out of a deep-seated leftist orientation but rather to avoid being in an unpopular (according to the media) position. They were most comfortable when nodding agreement with the media cheerleaders for Obama. The noise made recently by the Tea Party demonstrators has started to unsettle this comfort-seeking herd. The purpose of the skit was to reassure the herd that Obama is harmless and that all the complaints about Obama are groundless.

Now I liked the points made, truth is usually funnier than fiction.

But you implied an idea that would have made this skit truly funny...

If the performer had ratcheted his head and eyes up and left to right, back and forth, between each phrase it would have been hilariously, truthfully, funny.

I think I missed the part in the skit where he mentions nationalizing the banking and automotive industries in his list of non-accomplishments.

That was pretty #$@#@$ funny. Good Material, for a change.

Too bad that Armisen looked about as much like BO as I do.

SNL should hire someone...

Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) actually did a moderately decent impression of BO on a show last year.

Skit was "TheRock Obama" or something along those lines. Featured The Rock putting wrestling moves on various weaselly political advisors.

Not a classic skit, but a better impression than this one. And the dude that they got to do Rahm Emmanuel was spot on, too.

Funny, I said much the same thing.....about 10 years ago.

I was too young to remember the awful early 80s years....but I suspect that much the same was said then, too. :-)

I had been pretty faithful to SNL up until 1998 or so. I think my favorite season (1985-86) is considered the worst by most critics - at least the worst before Y2K. The only cast member who survived to go on to the ‘86-87 season was Jon Lovitz, I believe.

I wasn’t really that funny. All of the things on the second list of things he wanted to accomplish were all Communist causes and the unstated understanding was that skit seemed to be objecting to the fact he hadn’t accomplished any of them.

So it starts—in time he will be made a laughing stock for the whole world. It will start small and grow into a wave of cutting humor. His ego and arrogance will only grow making him more the fool.

I thought I’ve seen him do a better impersonation of the Marxist usurper, but this one was pathetic. In fact, it seemed like, for a moment, he lapsed into a good impersonation and then quickly caught himself. A quality impersonation of Obama needs the halting emphasis, combined with whistling his esses.

I saw the same quick change. When he has impersonated nObama many times before, he was not putting him down like he did last night. I think he is probably a liberal (they all are) and he was trying to be kind to “the one”.

Actually, Glenn Beck just played this, this was an attack on Obama like you think it was, this was a warning shot from the left telling him he better get his left wing agenda going, while I admit it was funny, it was not them attacking him. You can compare it to conservatives attack Bush because he wasn’t conservative enough.

The actor didn't even try to sound/act like ZerO.
The way he looked straight at the camera was a dead giveaway.
