WE'RE N0. 4! As I stood with the shell-shocked citizens in Daley Center Plaza before noon Friday, the sickly orange fountain bubbling like toxic waste before us on this gray, miserable day, I halfway expected that cheer to break out.

A rejection of OBAMAS arrogance.
I think that is what most everyone is thinking. Obama’s arrogance.
Speak for yourself Rick.
As the Overstock.com lady would say “It’s all about the O.” The I-me-mine president and his crooked cronies from Chicago got this one stuffed back in their faces.
“He has become the Ugly American again.”
Fixed it.
Not America’s - OBAMA’S and his entourage ....
Do you suppose Chicago’s rejection might have had something to do with bribes from the US in the past? I was looking at Wikipedia and found the following:
In recent years, the contest for the right to host the games has grown increasingly fierce. Allegations were leveled after the 1996 Olympics that Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) organizers bribed members of the IOC to obtain the Olympic Games. However, ACOG documents were destroyed prior to a formal inquiry and the allegations remain unproven. In his defense, ACOG Chairman Billy Payne said “Atlanta’s bidding effort included excessive actions, even thought processes, that today seem inappropriate but, at the time, reflected the prevailing practices in the selection process and an extremely competitive environment.” In 2002, Salt Lake City was involved in a bribery scandal but earlier stories, reported by British journalists Vyv Simson and Andrew Jennings,[5] date back decades. Corruption in the IOC has been documented by numerous investigations. After the Salt Lake City scandal in which a number of IOC members were expelled following an extensive investigation, efforts were made to clamp down on abuses of the bid city process. More stringent rules were introduced and an advisory board of recently retired former athletes was set up. Critics of the organization believe more fundamental reform is required, for instance replacing the self-perpetuating system of delegate selection with a more democratic process.
you think they are going to admit that??? the Sun Times had an article yesterday claiming it was Bush’s fault...search it here...
Two years ago I attended a gala and sat at a table next to Maggie Daley. Due to our table location, I was one of the last to leave and saw Mayor Daley. I approached him and while shaking his hand, looked him directly in his eyes and said, “I’m doing this for all my Republican family and friends. I LOVE GEORGE BUSH.”
I am so glad I did that!!!!
I now live in California, which may be the left coast, but it’s not the disgusting pig hole that Chicago is and the state has become.
How about Chicago’s corruption went beyond anything the IOC had ever experienced?
Was this a Islamic event? That copyrited word.... arrogance...
no one knows. The IOC doesn’t say why did what they did and only they know. The whole thing is absurd. I think it’s all taken way too seriously. The Olympics is nothing but a huge head ache and I think the people of Rio will soon realize that seven years of planning isn’t worth two weeks of partying.
Bush never cared whether the world thugs liked him or not. On the contrary, Obama does want to win the congeniality contest. Mr. Darling, leader of the world! Boy the turn down must have really pissed Obama off. I wonder what he will do to get back at whomever was responsible of making sure Chicago was eliminated on round 1?
Tokyo is also plenty corrupt and frankly for that matter Rio. That’s all possible but no one knows.
Include me in.
Good on ya, outstanding!
I think everyone on both sides of the aisle are making too much out of nothing.
If I was on the voting committee, before casting my vote I'd have asked myself: "self, would you rather go to Chicago or Rio for a two week vacation?"
All I know is somebody made a fortune on those God-awful looking orange Chicago 2016 shirts.
The world rejects Chicago Politics, America Rejoices.
Obama, threw the Churchill bust out of the White House, on the second or third of his reign, gave the finger to the Queen of England, tossed the Brit PM, under the bus....what goes around comes around....a teenager for President....
Orange is part of the Bears colors. Also, it fits in with Michelle’s colors of choice.
Affirmative action, gets no traction.
snort
Obama Hussein sycophants --- a cross-section of America.
Not!
You don't know much about Rio and partying, do you.
Obama told the United Nations the other day the United States can't solve the world's problems by itself anymore.
And what, exactly, was the last problem we solved?
We did have some role in Herr Hitler's downfall and the collapse of Japan's empire.
Not to mention bringing down the Berlin Wall.
But if you want to look at it his way, what was the last "problem" that "the world" solved?
Rick wants it to be about anything but what it’s about. This was a pie in the face of an arrogant celebrity and his insufferable entourage, nothing more. The cheering in America should have told him that.
How long has it been since you have heard someone crow in a speech “America’s the greatest nation that ever was”? I can remember hearing it in the 90s, but not since.
The world is racist! or....... maybe they just didn’t like the color of Michelles dress. Either way, one more to add to the list of things not done! MMmmmm.... list is getting a bit one sided
These were not only the smartest people in the US, but the smartest people in the global community! /s/
