However, first we need to win back our own congressional districts.
"Some Conservative Republicans are wondering where the 2010 Conservative revolution will come from, what congressional districts will shift from Democrat to Republican hands, how we can accomplish these goals, and can we overcome the horrific past two congressional cycles? Considering top political gurus all agree with the Democrats could lose dozens House of seats next election, that the American people do not want what the Democrats are selling, and the American people that punished the Republicans for not being Conservative, are doing likewise to far-left Democrats.

Now all we need to do is see if we can get them interested in doing it.
The GOP will put John McCain in charge of the project.
Fight, resist and get in the Dems faces. Do NOT get over confident. We also need to get rid of RINOs.
Voting out Hairy Reid and Juan McCain should be priority #1.
Conservatives need to pull out all the stops to get Jose McCain dumped in the primary.
Make sure no one tells the RINO’s. This could wreck Bi-partisanship.
In the 17th Congressional district of TX, we need to dump Chet “Nancy-boy” Edwards, who is Pelosi’s fave (she suggested him as a Veep possibility for BO) but wants to masquerade as a “conservative Democrat” every two years. Happily, his opponent in ‘10 is also an Aggie alum, so possibly the Aggies can consider a replacement for Edwards, the dimpled darling of the Left.
No kidding. They stripped my conservative congressman of money because he was a lost cause. He lost by a whopping 2%.
A lot of these chumps got in because the Baraqqi coalition turned out big in 08 and pushed the “D” button.
With no Messiah on the ballot in 010, there is a much better chance of flushing them.
But it’s not guaranteed. There will still be 97% of minorities, union members, illegals, dead voters, and govt employees pushing the “D” button.
These losers keep on losing races, squandering our majority when we had it......attempting to be "compassionate conservatives" along w/GWB.
Thanks be to God that Algore was NOT in office on 9/11 and W continued to be on the hunt for terrorists but unfortunately, we fought the "compassionate conservative war" in Iraq for 4 years, continued to refer to Islam as a "religion of peace" in this country and allowed the PC crowd to label anything "racial profiling" that resembled actually vigilism at all of our airports with raised terrorist levels making people like me who gets "profiled" each and every time I fly (I'm a white, fair skinned, blond haired, green eyed woman over 40!)
On more than one front GWB served as nothing more than a less liberal president than Clinton, while being forced to defend our borders and demanding amnesty for the 12-20 million illegals in our midst!
You want to win back Congress? Vote for a conservative, not a Republican!
Can we first look at the elections this November...Virginia Gov to name one.
I do not think the words “ win back Congress easily” should be part of anyone’s verbiage. It has an arrogant air to it and I would rather leave the arrogance to the democrats!
They need a forty seat swing out of a 79 seat Democrat House.
In the 54 red districts (those carried by Bush twice and McCain once), Democrat pollster Charlie Cook says 20 are already gone.
The GOP needs to recruit returning vets from the War on Terror, fund them, support them and coordinate message, which is small goverment, low taxes, and a robust defense of liberty.
It can be done. Its laying there in front of them.
No way! Defeating so many democrats would NOT be BIPARTISAN and therefore must be rejected by republican politicians of good will and character.
Signed: Juan McCain, Lindsey Grahamnesty, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe.
There’s one little wrinkle with this analysis:
The GOP has to:
a) either recruit conservative/libertarian candidates or
b) not run AGAINST conservative/libertarian candidates.
The GOP has shown an absolute failure on (b) since the 1996 election, and in most districts in the last three election cycles, it has failed (a).
Response: I tend to doubt this. The voting precincts will be flooded with fraudulent voters. We may have trouble getting "The Divine One" out of office in 2016. "Don't count your chickens before they are hatched!"
Memo to GOP : We can win back Congress easily...
I’m hoping that Americans win back the Congress
Would you want another Arlen Spector elected to the Senate?
But if we do it with RINOs like Crist the political result will be a defeat for the country.
McCain and Crist.
Absolutely! I can’t believe we’re seeing overconfidence already!
The American people might not “want what the Democrats are selling” right now but they sure seemed to want it a year ago. And if they were persuaded to vote Dem then, it could happen again.
We need good, interesting, CONSERVATIVE candidate, not just “Republicans.” We have enough RINO trouble-makers in Washington as it is.
Leave it to the OP wing of the Republicrat party to find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
you said it perfectly!!!
Tim Walberg ran against RINO Joe Schwarz in 06 and defeated him in the primary. (John McCain campaigned for Schwarz that year BTW.) Then Joe Schwarz announced a write in campaign just days before the election but Walberg still won.
In the last election Schwarz endorsed the democrat over Walberg.
Thanks!
I meant “candidates,” plural
Which means locally, state-wide and nationally WE must take back the party from GWB’s Allies (pimarily liberal big-money) big-city types.
Really. I respect and admire him for many reasons, but he's either incapable or unwilling to defend us against big-government and creeping socialism.
It’ll never happen. McCain’s a Senator for Life.
Indeed, the conditions are right, but where are the leaders? That's the problem. Until the GOP dumps its current pathetic unimaginative and uninspired leadership, the pubbies are likely to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If we lose in 2010 (and it could happen), I don't see us winning again for a long time.
Yes, we could win back the House but again, where are the leaders? Can it really be done all at the local level? It's looking as though it will have to be done this way. The national GOP is so pathetic that it looks like some independent conservative operators are going to have to organize the counter-attack alone.
