Why Naomi Wolf Loves the Burqa

TOPSHOTS-AFGHANISTAN-VOTE-RALLY

The shameless phenomenon of Western leftist feminists abandoning millions of persecuted Muslim women under Islamic gender apartheid continues.

Naomi Wolf has now come forward to say that she finds the Islamic chador sexy and supports its institutionalization throughout the Islamic world.

Naomi Wolf

Never mind that Muslim women in most cases do not have a choice of whether or not to cover themselves, and face bodily harm and death if they do not veil. How much, one wonders, does Wolf care about Aqsa Parvez, a 16-year-old Muslim girl who was murdered by her father for refusing to wear the veil? Does Wolf think that honor murder is sexy too? Does it warm Wolf's heart that Aqsa's grave remains unmarked because her family is doing its best to erase all remnants of her 16-year existence on earth?

Before the election Naomi was claiming her mail was being opened surreptitiously by Bush gremlins, and that Bush would declare martial law to prevent the 2008 election. So I’m sure they make a chador out of aluminum foil. Total loon.

PLEASE! Hour after hour, day after day, year after year the left has to come up with excuses for the most blatant and shameless hypocrisy. It’s not easy! Sure, these people have no shame to begin with. And no, they don’t really care what actual Americans think of them. But they DO go through the motions, so let’s give them a break. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. OOOPS, sorry Naomi.

Has she ever actually put one ON? I have, and there’s no way it could be considered liberating.

Naomi is a liberal wackjob.

The burqa is a too some Muslim and Arab women as chains were to slaves. No doubt, if Naomi had been around during the Civil War, she would have asserted that wearing chains was sexy and should be institutionalized.

Back in 2000, she also had to give Algore lessons on how to be a man. How did that work out?

She is an idiot that has been reading too many stories from the “Tales of the Veil” website. She doesn’t understand the difference between reality & erotic fiction.

How long before they force the girls into burkha’s at Yale? Can’t be long now.

She should have advised Al Gore to wear one in 2000, when she was his fashion consultant. That, plus a gag, might have done the trick.

Naomi Wolf was a conventional liberal who went out on the fringe a few years ago, a sort of left wing Pat Buchanan, albeit her deviations were in different areas.

Yeah, and it got her hot.

“I experienced it myself. I put on a shalwar kameez and a headscarf in Morocco for a trip to the bazaar. Yes, some of the warmth I encountered was probably from the novelty of seeing a Westerner so clothed; but, as I moved about the market - the curve of my breasts covered, the shape of my legs obscured, my long hair not flying about me - I felt a novel sense of calm and serenity. I felt, yes, in certain ways, free.”

That’s not a burqa - just a long loose tunic over pants, and a headscarf like every woman used to wear to cover her curlers. I’ve got the full monty - eyescreen and all. The first few seconds of wearing it feel oppressive, after that I want to beat the guys who invented it to death with a baseball bat, because a gun is too quick. The thing’s an outrage against human dignity, both for the woman who wears it and for the man who requires it.

I’ve got to ask - Why?

You know, I never see those in Iraq. Most women around me dress like we do and don't cover up at all. Some wear the headscarf and every now and then, when I'm out about town in a convoy, I'll see a black chador or two.

But, come to think of it, I don't see burkhas in Iraq.

To: stop_fascism; patriciaruth

I sent treats to the troops in Afghanistan through the Merry Band of Patriots group here on FR - one unit sent souvenirs and patriciaruth kindly gave me first choice. I thought it was a cool piece of history to have, to show what our troops liberated those women from. Just looking at the pictures of others wearing them is NOTHING. Put one on.

I am assuming that the “why?” refers to why I even have a burqa, not why I find it oppressive.

I've never seen a burqa here, but there's plenty of chadors in Northern Virginia - they have a large traditionalist muslim community. Very freaky at the 7-11.

What part of NoVa? I lived there a long time ago - in high school. We never saw 'em back then. But I've heard they're appearing all over the place now.

I was in London on R&R last month and saw a good deal of chadors. I think I see more chadors there in London than I see in Baghdad.

Annandale - off of Braddock Road. Annandale’s gone from all Anglo when I lived there in the 70’s, to Hispanic, to Korean, to Muslim.

The first ones I saw were in Potomac Mills mall maybe ten years ago.
