I bet there’s no schism now.
“Favres blowing up another team...”
Good call. genius.
“Winning is a great deodorant.” - John Madden
“Good riddance to Farve. (I am saying that as a Packer fan.)”
Scared much?
bump
You might want to wait til the other 13 games are played out...lest you look like the clown that castigated me last year when I noted the same thing with the Jets and Favre last season.
I can’t predict. But, they are 3-0. LoL
“But, but, but they said he was only a schism.” - Mike Singletary
I can....(laughing)
Favre doesn’t have to carry the team on the back now he got Peterson.
‘Favre doesnt have to carry the team on the back now he got Peterson.’
Thats a fair point. Acknowledged and agree with you.
But do you honestly think Favre can play the entire 16 game schedule, and the additional three games required for the Vikings to reach the Super Bowl, at his age? Without training camp to prepare himself physically?
This was discussed on both the NFL Network and ESPN’s various NFL related programs. Former players...Tom Jackson, Keyshawn Johnson, Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Jamie Dukes, et al...all of are the opinion his body simply can’t hold up for 19 NFL games. Not counting the preseason games he played in here, btw.
As we witnessed last year with the Jets, he’s not the same ‘Bret Favre’ of even three seasons ago. As long time fans of the NFL (You and I)...we both know once a players physical condition begins to slide...it tends to slide rapidly.
The other consideration is this. Can Favre restrain his ‘gunslinger’ attitude this season? Its my view he hasn’t had anyone since Holmgren with the stature required to tell a living legend like Favre ‘no more rocket balls’ or ‘play within the game plan, damn it!’. People are creatures of habit, and its been a full decade since Favre actually listened and respected a head coach, let alone a offensive coordinator.
We’ll see. Maybe I’m wrong about this...but I don’t think so.
Who’s laughing now??
Who’s laughing now??
That's funny to read! He's a whole lot better!!
In all fairness; his performance this year was very hard to predict.
“there is no way in hell he would be on any team I coached.”
That’s why you aren’t a NFL Coach....LOL You don’t have good judgement.
Didn't realize that this was an old thread. 8-1. Come on over and "blow up" the Eagles.
Fine by me! In light of his success, I still wouldn’t want him.
Favre only has 3 interceptions and it is almost December.
With a QB rating of over 110% and 21 TDS with just 3 ints while leading his team to 9-1 record, is Favre playing as he’s past his prime?
