The latest weather projections indicate that Hurricane Bill could spoil some of President Barack Obama’s vacation plans this coming week in Martha’s Vineyard.
According to Accuweather.com, the hurricane will not make landfall along Cape Cod, instead passing by to the east. But the storm is expected to bring large amounts of wind and rain to the area this weekend and possibly into early next week.
Forecasts call for gusts of wind between 30 and 60 mph and rainfall that could reach as much as two inches in some areas of New England.
The Obamas are scheduled to arrive at Martha’s Vineyard on Sunday, and the White House said on Friday that it is closely tracking the hurricane.
“We are obviously watching that,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said during his daily briefing. “Certainly it’s our hope that the storm will avoid reaching the United States and turn back out into the Atlantic.”
It’s OK. He’ll just take another expensive vacation next week to make up for it.
Just the thought of this hurricane headed in his direction is making me happy ! Funny stuff.

I’m unemployed and actively looking for work. I can’t afford a vacation and don’t have the time, anyway. Where’s my TARP or bailout money? This man needs to rein in his travels to promote his varying private agendas. I wonder what it costs to gas up AF-1 and fly out West to a town hall meeting? I wonder what it costs to take some of the foreign junkets, what with aides, Secret Service, the big SUV’s, the armored limo, etc., etc. It seems the Presidency is a ticket into the Jet Set.
He should have some decent weather next week so maybe he can find a sunny day and wade into the local rain-soaked golf course and play 18 and then get his royal butt back to D.C. where our President belongs. I have no sympathy at all.

At the onset of his vacation, can we stop and reflect how fortunate we are that the White House PR team clearly determined that endless coverage of his extravagant ‘date nights’ wasn’t a winner? Not an utterance of a date night for months now.

It's not just AF-1. Supposedly he had 400 hotel rooms booked for that one. Not only do you have to cater to The King himself, but you have to accommodate his entire entourage.

why would the clintins go to Martha’s Vineyard at the same time the President of the United States is going there? Isn’t that a little odd? Seems to me (I am not an Obama nor a clintin fan) that an impeached president would not go to the same place as the sitting President for vacation at the same time? Does anyone else think the same way? I do think it is strange. Is it just me???

Remember the "angry" Obama, who addressed and hectored the many thousands(at the Denver stadium during the Demo convention)? He showed his true face then, as someone who had come to lecture America and change the "evil" of its ways.
