Liberal groups are failing to heed the White House's call to end their attack ads on Democrats over their opposition to health care reform.

From the Politico

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel warned liberal groups this week to stop running ads against Democratic members of Congress.

The powerful top aide to President Obama made his feelings known at the weekly closed-door strategy session of an array of progressive organizations, according to two sources who were there.

And if these groups don’t fall in line, will Emmanuel send them a dead fish????????

Does anybody else get the impression that the Obama team wants to pick fights with everybody? In this case, Emmanuel is warning liberal groups about their activities? Liberals who agree with them on lots of the issues are considered a threat somehow to the Obama team? Or are these liberal groups supposed to take their directions from the White House directly?

So you order them to attack, then order them not to attack. Sounds like things are getting a bit chaotic in the bunker these days.

IMO Rahm is controlling this. He will see that the ads are ended if the Blue Dogs roll-over. They are a threat and a warning.

Translation: “There will be plenty of time later to beat them in to submission. For now, we just need their votes. Lay-off until we can ram this Obamacare bill down their throats.”
