White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has got the networks just where he wants them when it comes to carrying the president's press conferences in prime time.
From the Washington Post
In the days before President Obama's last news conference, as the networks weighed whether to give up a chunk of their precious prime time, Rahm Emanuel went straight to the top.

Half-pint Fascist!
Rahm can squeeze them all he wants- even deliver dead fish to their execs- we the people DON’T HAVE TO WATCH
at least, it is not yet mandated
“Rather than calling ABC, the White House chief of staff phoned Bob Iger, chief executive of parent company Disney. Instead of contacting NBC, Emanuel went to Jeffrey Immelt, the chief executive of General Electric. He also spoke with Les Moonves, the chief executive of CBS, the company spun off from Viacom.”
And this is EXACTLY why government should not take ownership of private corporations.
General Electric as a recipient of government bailouts is indebted to the STATE.
That it is unduly influenced to give the President face time is evidence itself that the media is now STATE RUN. At least in the case of NBC.
I never watch him. I just hope over exposure turns the people against his agenda even more. It is no more than propaganda.
next stop Hugo Chavez, crowing about how broadcast stations are no longer the property of the Bourgeoisie.
They won’t do it, but if any of these execs had the stones they could give as good as they get. (Hey, Rahm, wanna see an in-depth investigative report on tax cheats within the Obama Administration? Want me to fire Katie and hire Glenn Beck as my nightly news anchor?)
Well, this lady got enough of him! ;-)

Meanwhile, Dan Rather thinks the media needs more government oversight.
The networks have been making their bed for years. Let them lay in it.
