One of the most sacred rights and responsibilities of American citizenship is voting. We are supposedly guaranteed that every person's vote is worth as much as every other person's vote. That guarantee has never been perfect, Blacks weren't allowed to vote until the 15th amendment in 1870, and women until 1920's 19th Amendment, but the tradition of the United States has been to aspire toward honest elections.
This past election America took a major step backwards, ACORN, perpetuated voter fraud in at least 14 states to the point where some districts had MORE than 100% of registered voters casting ballots. Ultimately this probably had little effect on the national results. But the fact that it was wide-spread enough to cause concern was enough to erode confidence in the system.
Another particularly heinous event was in Philadelphia where members of the Black Panthers tried to intimidate Caucasians from voting.
Those Black Panthers were arrested, and the case looked like a slam dunk win. That was until late May our Justice department surprised everyone by dropping the case, clearly indicating that groups willing to resort to intimidation for the purpose of hijacking elections are free to harass Americans on their way to the voting booth as long as those intimidating are supporting the right candidate.
Republicans in congress are now working to have the case against the Black Panthers re-filed:

That little New Black Panther militant would look funny with
that billy club shoved up his backside!
He wouldn’t have stopped me from voting..
It is about time!!!! What does it take for a crime to be prosecuted when it is done by black panthers??
I bet Holder would not have dismissed the charges teh BP pressed on you though.
If that punk Holder would have done his job, they wouldn’t have to re-file charges.
Will anything come of this re-filing should it take place?
Most likely not as we’re in bad times now in this country. Only people that get charged with anything anymore are the victims.
You did not see any of that crap going on here in Texas. Some fool with a costume and a stick that threatened voters here would be dealt with in VERY short order.
Perhaps self help would cure any propensity for the diverse one’s to try and stop our voting?
Even if they don’t get anywhere, the Republicans can use this as a rallying cry to raise funds and get more people to the polls this year and in the mid terms next year.
If they do fail to get these scumbags prosecuted though it will not be good because the bad guys will feel empowered to do it at more polling places in coming elections.
What if we discovered in the course of a trial that the thugs were PAID TO INTIMIDATE VOTERS? Maybe that’s the reason the AG would not let the case proceed?
hmmmmmm
Sadly voting should be a privilege, not a right.

Maybe you could ask Bobbie Rush. After all we are talking about the Chicago ways in play here.
I would like for them to stop the $8 billion of our tax dollars that are scheduled to go to ACORN.
Why isn't everyone screaming about this? It's outrageous!!!
I should hope so!
I'll never forget the sequential prosecution of the officers involved in the Rodney King incident, based on a video showing only one side of the altercation.
Intimidation can get you arrested at a polling place, simply by displaying a political sign; it's consider intimidation serious enough to be arrested if you don't cease and desist.
Camos and billy clubs are not as intimidating?
Give me a royal break!
