John McCain: Sarah Palin was High Point of the Campaign
C4P ^ | July 31, 2009 | Daniel Terrapin

Posted on 08/01/2009 12:33:58 AM PDT by SolidWood

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal's Stephen Moore, John McCain had this to say about Governor Palin:

If the market crash was the low point, I ask him for his best memory from the campaign. “The high point, I think, was the convention, the selection of Sarah Palin, and the enthusiasm that was generated all over the country.” His fondness for Mrs. Palin and her family strikes me as from the heart; he believes she was a net asset for the ticket.

“Let’s face it,” he says, “she galvanized our base in a way that I couldn’t. Everywhere she went she drew enormous and enthusiastic crowds like a rock star.” He says his only regret in selecting the Alaska governor was that no one on the campaign predicted the ferocity of the assaults against her. “To the liberal left, particularly the feminists, she is their worst nightmare.”

he believes she was a net asset for the ticket

And with the net liability at the top of the ticket, the balance sheet was out of whack.

McCain’s statement of the obvious isn’t even worth a response.

I would just like to say that I see Sarah Palin as an intelligent, honest, decent, Good-hearted, radiantly beautiful woman who is obviously an old and wise soul, and she is EXACTLY the leader that this country needs at this time in its history.

Juan McPain your a political embarrassment and waste !

Thanks for your service to our country as a naval aviator but ya sold yer voters out with yer inability to make use of the values that Mrs Palin brought to your campaign and conservative americans.......you let your insiders help the MSM attack and abuse her. You sat silent.

For that your unforgiven and I hope your defeated in the next election.

Too bad McPain decided to take a dive for 0bama.

I’ve pondered the possibility that Juan only wanted to obtain revenge on the GOP, i.e. “You people didn’t want me in 2000, now I won’t win for you in 2008, and you can just deal with a leftist ‘Rat as punishment.”

Hey, stranger things have happened.

McCain’s political career is circling the drain, so once again we find him pandering to the conservative base. We can thank Jimmy Carter for turning Governor Reagan into President Reagan. We will have President Biden to thank for the landslide victory of President Palin in 2012. (Obama will be impeached long before then.)

He is suddenly kissing up to her because he needs her backing for his senate seat in 2010.

She needs to quietly (lady-like) kick him to the curb by ignoring him and maybe campaigning for whomever runs against him if that person is worthy of the position.

As someone who was perfectly prepared to sit-out the 2008 Presidential Election (i.e. not mark that part of my ballot) the only reason I bothered to vote for McCain was because of Sarah Palin.

The very first time I heard her speak, I called her "Reagan in a Skirt" and I continue to see her that way. She's incredibly bright and connects with every-day American's in a very similar manner that Reagan did.

Her quitting as Governor of Alaska concerns me, but I'm going to keep an eye on her because I'm very interested in what she's going to do in the future and I'll support her in any way I can. Conservatives and dare I say the Republican Party need more people of conviction like her, IMO.

SW, Sarah Palin was the high point of his campaign. From August 29th until McStupid went back to DC and suspended his campaign the third week of September, the momentum built.

The second high point of the campaign was the gift of Joe the Plumber.

In spite of these gifts, McDummy managed to squander both horribly. He would not fight for his country, as he ironically pleaded with us to “Fight with me” and the campaign slogan was “Country First”.

The only person on the ticket that actually believed this was Sarah.

Here’s why:

I see her as a 21st Century Esther — someone God has set in place to rescue a nation.

Esther: “If I perish, I perish.” (Esther 4:15).
Sarah: “If I die, I die.” (7/3/09)

Thank you, exit82.

Yes, all is well in Panama. Thank you for asking.

A new president was sworn in on 1 July. Everyone is excited about him (except for the communists). He is Panama’s Sarah Palin.

He owns a large chain of supermarkets, is very wealthy, is going after all and every commercial tax cheat crook taking their properties away and returning them to the state if they don’t cancel their debts within the next few days, going after all government crooks, firing all those in the government who are sitting in invented jobs, and is giving his entire salary to several charities. What more can one ask from a leader?

His understanding of economics is his forte.

Oh yes, he uses his own aircraft to travel on government business. He has been out of the country once. He flew to Costa Rica one morning and was back that afternoon. He needed the president of Costa Rica to show him how the Costa Ricans manage something. (The government does pay for the fuel. That’s little to ask.)

The official presidential aircraft has been poorly maintained, so it’s up on blocks so to speak which he will never use. I so hope he will think about selling it on e-Bay.

My best regards to you.

I bet you are sorry you asked me about Panama. : )

No, I’m never sorry to ask how things are in Panama.

Other than to say I am very jealous that you have a real President and not a closet Muslim Marxist like we have.

Thanks for the capsule descritpion of your new President. He sounds like he is the right kind of person to lead a country. He wants to serve rather than be served.

Just like Sarah Palin.

To be truthful, I alternate between hope and despair for America. But I have resolved to fight as I am able, against Zero Hussein and his minions.

Here in Southern Delaware, I was one of the 200 folks who gave Mike Castle of Delaware a hard time for two hours at his last town hall meeting on June 30th. This is the meeting where the video of the woman questioning Odummy’s birth certificate went viral on the internet and Youtube. I am hopeful it gave other folks courage to go out and make their representatives accountable. It certainly changed political perceptions here in Delaware, the home of Gaffe Master Joe Biden(I like to call him that because it makes him sound like a rap artist).

July, 2009 seems to have been a turning point for America—Obama is faltering because he is being exposed. We got the healthcare vote postponed until September. The hiding of the birth certificate is getting more exposure. America seems to be waking up to Obama. There is a huge Tea Party in DC on 9/12/09.

We have to take back Congress in 2010, or we will have a king in the White House.

But someday, Castro, Clinton, Reno and Greg Craig will get theirs, and Elian will come back to America as a free man.

Keep us in your prayers,M,we are in a perilous time in the USA. Take care.

“To be truthful, I alternate between hope and despair for America. But I have resolved to fight as I am able, against Zero Hussein and his minions.”

I understand. I too alternate between hope but mostly depression for my country. If I were in the states, I would be in the thick of it, but not at those carnival gatherings (tea bag geatherings). I would be right in the middle of the heat. That’s what I love.

I can’t believe that nearly twenty years later, I am still thrown back to 1987-89 when a lot of us were out in street doing our number against Noriega. For the next two years after Noriega, every time a helicopter flew overhead, I would suddenly realize as I looked to the sky, my entire body had tightened up. I had to remind myself that there was no more Noriega, and then I would relax again. But what really took me off guard and to my surprise was the Honduras thing a few weeks ago. It was a Saturday as things were “hotting up” in Honduras. Several times throughout the day I told myself I had better stay indoors. And every time I suddenly had to remind myself that this was not happening in Panama but in Honduras, and I would relax again. I didn’t realize how lasting these things could be. I could understand it if I had been in a real honest to goodness war zone.

“Here in Southern Delaware, I was one of the 200 folks who gave Mike Castle of Delaware a hard time for two hours at his last town hall meeting on June 30th. This is the meeting where the video of the woman questioning Odummy’s birth certificate went viral on the internet and Youtube. I am hopeful it gave other folks courage to go out and make their representatives accountable. It certainly changed political perceptions here in Delaware, the home of Gaffe Master Joe Biden(I like to call him that because it makes him sound like a rap artist).”

I envy you. I wish I could have been there. From the news, it sounded like a lot of anger and excitement. I would have been in my element.

“July, 2009 seems to have been a turning point for America—Obama is faltering because he is being exposed. We got the healthcare vote postponed until September. The hiding of the birth certificate is getting more exposure. America seems to be waking up to Obama. There is a huge Tea Party in DC on 9/12/09.”

I wish it to be true. Too many times I get so down wondering if we will win. One of the big fears I have is the 2010 elections. I wonder how ACORN has that setup to cheat and win. Certainly they are working on it as we speak. Zelaya of Honduras already had the ballots printed up by his friend Chavez, which were going to be replaced by the real ballots. I have no doubt large scale cheating will be happening in the States. How are we going to counter this as we are being called racists?

“We have to take back Congress in 2010, or we will have a king in the White House.”

We have to no matter the means how we do it and the force we have to use. It could be our last stand. No one seems to want to take on 535 congresscrooks, one cheeky Kenyan bastard, and 9 supreme court justices. And we have a population of 300,000,000 people. What gives?

“But someday, Castro, Clinton, Reno and Greg Craig will get theirs, and Elian will come back to America as a free man.

That certainly would make my day.”

Mine too, especially that mango tree lawyer Greg Craig. Since he is still connected with the White House, Pedro Miguel Gonzales is still free and roaming about here in Panama after murdering one of our soldiers and wounding another. There has been no extradition order for him. He no longer has political immunity since he was thrown out of Panama’s congress this time around. Mango tree lawyer must be behind this since he is/was Gonzales’ lawyer.

I don’t understand why the new president doesn’t throw him in jail since that murder took place on Panamanian soil. Murder is murder. But he has only been president of 32 days and busy with other things right now.

“Keep us in your prayers,M,we are in a perilous time in the USA. Take care.”

I certainly will. I am not sleeping well at night. I get up tired every morning.

Thank you again.

M.

Didn't McOldguy get selected by a corrupt primary system? Cross-over voters in 'open' primaries? He would have been better than Obama...whoops, I take that back. Obama's hit a wall, McTraitor would have climbed over it on the shoulder of RINOS and most of the liberal sponsored crap would be alive and well as congress would be doing it "for the children".

I started out thinking the political system has been corrupted against conservatives such that it is broken beyond repair, only to realize that IF the Rs in Congress get a spine, we could hold Obama to a wall the way Sgt. Crowley did Professor Gates while slapping cuffs on him. Different Black Guy, same offense: too much hubris. "Cuff him Dano".

As to Sarah: young and energetic with charisma that excudes 'common man' rather than the Ivy League snob recently elected in a match-off against (another) old guy.

Age is a liability- and a tool they can't use against Sarah. 'Establishment politician' is a tool they can't use against her, either. When you think about it, they have few 'tools' left to take her down. That's why they fear her.

And when they get a load of the support she'll generate in the next two years, they may want to forfeit 2012. Save some money and fight again another day- or- run re-run Hillary (gettin up in years) knowing full-well that they haven't a chance. Couldn't happen to a nicer person/party.

Hey Rham, your boy's getting loose in the corners, probably needs new tires but you haven't called for a pit like other teams. If he goes high on turn three again(Health Care Curve), he'll take the wall. Is your radio working?
