I’m not saying you are wrong, but you have to admit it’s a gutsy executive decision. She may spiral in as a presidential candidate because of this, but sometimes going against the flow has its dividends too.
The grand plan? She runs against Senator Lisa Murkowski (a lousy 2-star Republican) in next year’s election....knocking her out in the primary and no real competition to oppose her in November.
As for 2012? Forget it. It’s now out....and I’m betting a 2015 run for President. She’ll do the same trick then too...resigning in January 2015, and Republican Governor Parnell (he’ll still be around), will pick the replacement. She’ll have a open calendar and be able to accuse any Senator of running that they aren’t being faithful to the people they represent....forcing them to resign or else admit that they don’t have ethics.
It’s a four-star scripted move.
