She said her decision was “fortified” after visiting the troops. The gloves are coming off. No more “ethics” bullsh*t from the buffoons down at Juneau.

Wish she’d stay. If she runs for re-election & wins, she retains the title of Governor which is prestigious should she still want to go after the presidential election in 2012.

Her adress leaves no doubt. She will stay in politics on a different front. I think she’ll rally the grassroots and raise funds and support for candidates in 2010. She’ll be kingmaker and by 2012 ready for the big move against the abomination.

However this turns out, Sarah has been a wonderful breath of fresh air. I thank God for her and wish her well.

As I think about this, I would characterize Sarah as one of the few politicians who is not in it for power, but because she likes leading and helping people and making things better.
If she couldn’t see her way clear to doing that, she might just decide to step down.
On the other hand, if the whole country goes to hell in a handbasket and turns to her for help, she might come back in again. But she doesn’t need power for personal satisfaction.

I haven’t heard a good explanation of motivation or timing yet. All I know is there are a lot of good people disappointed, and a lot scurvy RATs celebrating and, yes....still in attack mode. Azzholes.

Patience is not a virtue of mine. I’m pretty bummed right now, and would like to know the rest of the story. Best to all the Palin family.

Resigning effective July 26? I’m stunned.

I listened to her entire announcement. It was honorable, it was direct, and it punctuated the insane politics of our day...it also punctuated her personal commitment to fight, and to do so when it would not distract further from her job as Governor and the foundation she has built there.
I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American.
I think Sarhah has just turned, like a fed-up mama Bear, on her detractors. She has put things in order, she has left them in the hands of capable people, and she has now turned to face her enemies ditrectly.
...and I think they are going to be sorry. We have smelled the fear in them for a long time. Good on her!
I believe she will assist others greatly in 2010, and will run herself in 2012...and she has my full support.

When are we going to do finally do something about the slimeballs from the McCain campaign who have trashed Sarah Palin from the beginning. They mismanaged her campaign and allowed her to be set up and embarrassed by Couric and others in the MSM. Then McCain's daughter is out trying to kiss up to the same MSM who attack Sarah. Then at the end of the campaign they fed lies to the MSM about Sarah's wardrobe and her ignorance etc. Then lately they worked with Vanity Fair to trash her. All the time McCain let her be fed to the wolves and did nothing to protect her. I think these people are the scum of the earth and someone needs to take names and holds these despicable scumbags accountable.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
If she’s writing a book and wants to effectively campaign for others in 2010 (a must in politics as she does need to scratch a few backs...) then this makes sense.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
The leftists are apoplectic over this. "She's done"..."She's finished"..."Andrea Mitchell's sources say she's out from politics for good"...The parasites can't believe their "luck".
Great country, America : one half of it works for a living, the other half votes for a living. Hopefully the looters are in for a surprise.

IMHO, Sarah is calling this JUST AT THE RIGHT TIME !!!!!
July 26th is right on the button. She would have probably lost her job anyway since that will be right after the Putin leg of the Obamassiah’s continuing worldwide “Apology Tour” as I expect him to apologize for the 1867 USA Seward’s Folly “cheap” purchase of Alaska, and immediately return it to Putin.
....from a kneeling position, begging forgiveness of course..

She is going to campaign for REAL Republicans all over the country. She is going to help get a bunch of RINOs knocked out in primaries. Then, with a gigantic, powerful, grateful base of REAL Republicans, she will run in 2012.

Sarah’s brave decision to leave her job will have a devastating effect on the State Media and the Socialist’s, now they have to start trying, way early, to pick the Republican candidate for president in ‘12 for us.
