Sarah Palin Resigning - Updated
Flopping Aces ^ | Friday, July 3rd, 2009 at 12:53 pm | Curt

Posted on 07/03/2009 1:50:00 PM PDT by Ernest_at_the_Beach

Quick post while at work….Sarah Palin is resigning as Governor.

Guess that’s it for her.

UPDATE

Todd to FNC: Sarah to concentrate on doing things for Alaska and the country she can’t do as governor.”

UPDATE

She brings up the slams against Trig as being a reason her kids wanted her to do something. “It’s been in the works for awhile.” Said that her trips to visit the troops was a factor.

Nice finish. “Don’t explain - your friends don’t need it, and your enemies won’t believe it anyway.”

Not sure I get it. She could be planning to spend 2010 campaigning for true conservatives for 2010, forcing the party back to its roots and then onto 2012. Or she could be tired of the lawsuits and crap she takes from the media and the left.

Confused.

UPDATE

She said her decision was “fortified” after visiting the troops. The gloves are coming off. No more “ethics” bullsh*t from the buffoons down at Juneau.

Wish she’d stay. If she runs for re-election & wins, she retains the title of Governor which is prestigious should she still want to go after the presidential election in 2012.

Her adress leaves no doubt. She will stay in politics on a different front. I think she’ll rally the grassroots and raise funds and support for candidates in 2010. She’ll be kingmaker and by 2012 ready for the big move against the abomination.

As I think about this, I would characterize Sarah as one of the few politicians who is not in it for power, but because she likes leading and helping people and making things better.

If she couldn’t see her way clear to doing that, she might just decide to step down.

On the other hand, if the whole country goes to hell in a handbasket and turns to her for help, she might come back in again. But she doesn’t need power for personal satisfaction.

I haven’t heard a good explanation of motivation or timing yet. All I know is there are a lot of good people disappointed, and a lot scurvy RATs celebrating and, yes....still in attack mode. Azzholes.

I’m not saying you are wrong, but you have to admit it’s a gutsy executive decision. She may spiral in as a presidential candidate because of this, but sometimes going against the flow has its dividends too.

I don’t mind her not running for another term - she could do a lot more good helping conservative candidates, but why not finish out her term - something must be wrong. Am I losing my entire tagline??

The grand plan? She runs against Senator Lisa Murkowski (a lousy 2-star Republican) in next year’s election....knocking her out in the primary and no real competition to oppose her in November.

As for 2012? Forget it. It’s now out....and I’m betting a 2015 run for President. She’ll do the same trick then too...resigning in January 2015, and Republican Governor Parnell (he’ll still be around), will pick the replacement. She’ll have a open calendar and be able to accuse any Senator of running that they aren’t being faithful to the people they represent....forcing them to resign or else admit that they don’t have ethics.

It’s a four-star scripted move.

She is also giving Lt. Gov Parnell enough time in office to prove himself as an incumbent in the next gubernatorial election. Good move.

Something tells me that she had some very interesting conversations aboard the USS Stennis and in Kosvo.

and then decide whether to make a run....

I listened to her entire announcement. It was honorable, it was direct, and it punctuated the insane politics of our day...it also punctuated her personal commitment to fight, and to do so when it would not distract further from her job as Governor and the foundation she has built there.

I am proud of her and support her. She is a great American.

I think Sarhah has just turned, like a fed-up mama Bear, on her detractors. She has put things in order, she has left them in the hands of capable people, and she has now turned to face her enemies ditrectly.

...and I think they are going to be sorry. We have smelled the fear in them for a long time. Good on her!

I believe she will assist others greatly in 2010, and will run herself in 2012...and she has my full support.

GO SARAH GO!

When are we going to do finally do something about the slimeballs from the McCain campaign who have trashed Sarah Palin from the beginning. They mismanaged her campaign and allowed her to be set up and embarrassed by Couric and others in the MSM. Then McCain's daughter is out trying to kiss up to the same MSM who attack Sarah. Then at the end of the campaign they fed lies to the MSM about Sarah's wardrobe and her ignorance etc. Then lately they worked with Vanity Fair to trash her. All the time McCain let her be fed to the wolves and did nothing to protect her. I think these people are the scum of the earth and someone needs to take names and holds these despicable scumbags accountable.
