She is not quitting. She is going on the attack to stop the Democrats now rather than four years from now.

Her address was riddled with hints at a future political run. As she said, she isn’t retreating but taking the political fight in another direction. Interpret this as you can.

It’s our loss, but I understand her decision. She has endured much legal harrassmenet, most of it on petty charges. She has large legal bills defending herself against the false and frivolous accusations.

I sure wish she had selected another day to announce this. I’m not getting a lot of “warm fuzzies” about America right now. The state run “media” will be trashing her 24/7 over the entire Independence Day holiday.

This is terrible. This ends any chance of her being president. She needs to win reelection to be a serious candidate.

Plus, she looks like Obama. She can't even finish one term as governor? She can't fulfill her commitments?

Her speech on FNC right now is giving me the impression that the lunatic left is frustrating her out of office. Sounds to me like she is tired of defending herself from the left wing nut jobs. I hope that there is a bigger picture here with a bigger plan in mind.

I think she has a plan much bigger than she’ telling us today. But she cannot do anything while being governor.

Have heart my Freeper friends....this is the best news I have heard in days......Sarah is answering the call, and doing it the right way....

She will now be free to travel the country and speak to all comers....she cannot be accused of ignoring her job as govenor, which is totally fine for democrats but unacceptable to people with integrity....

Have heart and say your prayers to protect Sarah on her very dangerous journey.....

I think this is a GREAT strategy by Sarahcuda for a few reasons...

The first of course is so she won't have to deal with the "made up" ethics violation accusations by her political enemies. It is an annoyance and a HUGE time waster.

The second is she is going to FOCUS on the ultimate prize... and that is... the 45th President of the United States in 2012.

This is what I believe is going to shake out in 2012... Hillary is going to win the Democratic nomination over Barry... so Sarah is going to have to pick up her game and focus the public attention on the shortcomings and inept policies of the Obama administration... and tie Hillary to Obama's anchor...

Go Sarah!

I think she needs the extra time to run as a populist INDEPENDENT, on a platform of fiscal responsibility, free markets, anti-corruption, and traditional values.

This is why the Left fears her so much.

She has the star power to run against both the Democrat and Republican Establishment.

We badly need to investigate and jail the scam artists who are ripping off the American people. Most are Democrats; some are Republican.

I hope an Oil Company that wants to build the pipeline she came to Texas to talk about is hiring her to run the project. Can you imagine what that would be like?

It could be as simple as she is tired of being a “target”. You remember someone “burned” her church. Are these evil people we are fighting. YES!

I have seen pics of her with a rifle, would not want to be in her sights.

Go Cudda, whatever your are going to do.

We love you, and wish you the best.

I look forward to helping others – to fight for our state and our country, and campaign for those who believe in smaller government, free enterprise, strong national security, support for our troops, and energy independence.”

I would quit also if the entire country’s media was out to slander me and my family. She’s sick of it and I can’t blame her—it’s a smart move.

Write some books, get a big TV show deal instead of dealing with the bloodsucker political media.

As a Texan, I look at only Texans as the ‘toughest’ types of Americans with one exception... Alaskans. Alaskans make the cowboys blush.

Palin did a very interesting tactical move. It is will be much more difficult to attack Palin now.

She is running. Or, at least, she is intending on FIGHTING.

Guys, use some logic.

Visiting the troops does not make one want to ‘give up’. It inspires the person the other way.

Why is she doing the book deal? As you know, presidential candidates tend to make books before they run.

Every political analyst I know, and myself has detected, that everything she has said and has been doing hsa been hinting toward a run.

She said she consulted her family and had a ‘vote’ which was unanimous. To me, this was a vote to run. If she wanted to quit to hide, she would have done it on her own without having a vote from her family.

She, herself, blatantly stated she is not exiting political life since she said she intends to campaign and talk about smaller government. If she wanted to ‘hide’, why do this?

Just recently, she fired back at Kerry when he wished that Palin was the one missing. “Why the long face?” she laughed back.

Her own major weakness was being governor. It opened the door to all these ‘ethics complaints’. The location of Alaska means she couldn’t get near Iowa.

Palin not only had to not run for re-election for Alaskan governor, she would probably also have to resign early.

This is not the first time Palin has resigned her job. The last time she did it was because she was sick of the corruption of the governor and ended up running and defeating him.
