[history]
ANN ARBOR, MI – Nearly four years after the so-called “Haditha Massacre,” an investigation conducted by over 65 NCIS agents (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) ─ the largest investigation in that agency’s history ─ with the expenditure of millions of taxpayer dollars, and prosecution losses at every stage of the criminal process, the government is still pursuing legal action against Marine LtCol Jeffrey Chessani.

Those bogus charges against LtCol Chessani were triggered by a fierce house-to-house, room-by-room combat action taken by four Marines in his battalion after being ambushed by insurgents in Haditha, Iraq on November 19, 2005. Along with several insurgents, 15 civilians also died. Where insurgents purposefully use civilians as human shields, civilian casualties are tragic, but not uncommon.Chessanis immediate superior told him that no investigation was needed because it was a bona fide combat action.
Yet, the case against Chessani is not off the table.

May God bless and keep LtCol Chessani and his family and friends. May he keep them strong in their faith in him and one another during this trial.
We are praying for you LT

Is this travesty against LtCol Chessani being continued because of pressure from Congressman John Murtha [PA-AH]??
It would be just like that SOB to continue torturing Chessani just to attempt to prove his point on Haditha - where he was totally wrong in his accusations.

Maybe the travesty continues because it’s “too big to fail”.

I believe Fat Jack Murtha is at least partly responsible for these last two cases either directly or indirectly being strung out. He shot off his mouth and is looking for a means to save at least some face and he holds the purse strings for the military in the House.
Murtha is truly despicable.

It’s been a political hit job from the beginning as far as I’m concerned.

Washington, the President and his ENTIRE Administration and agenda — and most especially Congress and the feckless imbeciles in charge, couldn’t do more to deeply agitate most right thinking Americans.
It’s almost like the Obama and his Thugocracy WANT to agitate and instigate to the point that insurrection is assured...
If they succeed — they will be very very sorry indeed..
There will me no quarter asked and none given to the miserable political and activist bastards who got us in this mess.

Because the military judges dismissal of the case was without prejudice, LtGen Flynn will now be responsible for deciding whether to recharge LtCol Chessani, take some administrative action, or take no action.

I don't know what's going on in the Corps BUT I don't like it. These Marines have been exonerated yet why the Corps continues to prosecute them is a mystery to me!

When I look at all the honorable Marines that serve, ones I personally have shook hands with a few times at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune, then look at the top brass, it makes me wonder. How on earth could this crap still be an issue is beyond me.
