Almost every idea that ever came out of France has been bad for America, from the structuralist philosophical gibberish which has poisoned US academe to the grotesquely over-regulated tax and spend socialism which is now ruining the US economy. But if there's one area where the French do get it SO right it's in their uncompromising approach to Islam.
President Sarkozy once again showed the way yesterday when in a presidential address to France's two houses of parliament, he said the burqa is not welcome in his country and should be banned.
As he rightly went on to say the full-body garment which makes women in Afghanistan look like a cross between a prison cell and a walking tent is "not a sign of religion" but a "sign of subservience." He added: "We cannot have in our country women who are prisoners behind netting, cut off from all social ife, deprived of identity."
Compare and contrast, the appalling cultural appeasement of President Obama's speech in Cairo on June 4 when he boasted that the United States prized freedom of religion and would not "tell people what to wear." And there was I thinking it was the French who were supposed to be the surrender monkeys, not the Americans.
Was there ever greater proof that, where the great clash of civilisations is concerned, President Obama is turning out to be the Islamists' useful idiot par excellence?
Does Barack Hussein Obama really not understand that supposed "freedom" he is granting US Muslim women to wear the veil is in fact the most surefire way of guaranteeing their continued subservience to their men folk and their failure to integrate with the broader society?
It's for precisely this reason - would that the rest of Europe had the courage! - that France bans religious

The clue phone has been ringing for the Kenyan Marxist for a long time.
He has been treating it as a nuisance call.
Bambi said he would ‘stand with the Muslims.” Looks like he’s kept his word.
Obama is an admirer of Islam. He’s probably appalled at Sarkozy’s actions.
It was an unfortunate set of circumstances that brought this left-wing accident to the White House.
We are led to believe that this apparel is not required by their religious teachings. BUT I for one, do not believe any of them. They will tell you anything you will swallow and the occupant of the WH is swallowing it all.
I was reading Anwar Sadat’s widow’s book and had to quit after 3/4 of the way through because she tried to gloss over what we know to be historical truth. I think she thought that people reading the book wouldn’t know any better. She wanted to clear up myths and misconceptions about Islam but failed with me.
Besides - she thinks Carter is a great man.
He should encourage his wife to put one on.
“I was reading Anwar Sadats widows book and had to quit after 3/4 of the way through because she tried to gloss over what we know to be historical truth.”
I remember reading the autobiography of Queen Noor. Mind you, it was the first time I had stopped reading a book without finishing.
All that filth about the Jews and considering she never had to wear a burqua, I think it was easy enough to rhapsodize about the joys of Islam.
The article starts out by decrying the “the grotesquely over-regulated tax and spend socialism” that we are picking up from France, yet he wants us to ape them in their quest to have the government decide what people can wear? That is what Islamists countries do. I think that we need to crack down more on Jihadist activities within our country, but not let the government find an excuse to regulate what American can wear. We do not fight socialism with even more socialism.
Well he certainly isn't standing for America.
I hope conservatives don’t rally behind this manifestation of European statism just because it’s tough on Muslims. Who’s next, Catholic priests and nuns? Buddhist monks? Since when does the government decide what manner of dress is suitable for women or has the proper symbolic message?
Well there is one thing for sure she has what he lacks, among a vast list, bal*s.
I agree completely.
Those idiot Muslim women want to listen to preachers that order them to be gusseted head to toe with bedsheets and nets, more power to ‘em.
And if the idiot Amish women want to listen to preachers that order them to always do everything the hard way, and avoid that English Devil Electricity, what is that to me?
And if a Jehovie (or is it the Seventh Day-ers?) refuses a blood transfusion to keep him, or his kid alive, I ain’t gonna tie him down and start poking needles into his hide, or tie him down so I can start poking needles into the kid’s hide. As Billy Currington’s been singing on the country radio stations, God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy. Can’t keep the crazies from their craziness, and shouldn’t often try.
You said — We are led to believe that this apparel is not required by their religious teachings. BUT I for one, do not believe any of them. They will tell you anything you will swallow and the occupant of the WH is swallowing it all.

It’s written right into their religion, itself, that the women have to cover themselves up from head down to the feet. I was reading through some of the Koran and Mohammed’s sayings on another website, and I came across it for the first time that I had ever seen it, directly myself, anywhere. It was there and it was real. They *do require it* in Islam, itself.
BUT, when I search through the Internet, trying to find others who “source it” (like what I directly read) I couldn’t find anyone.... LOL...
What is being done here is what is called “Takiyya”
And, in addition to the covering up from head to feet..., here is some information about Takiyya, the lying through your teeth practice of Muslims... to infidels... LOL...

Dear Mr. Pipes:
I am sure you are aware of it, but perhaps it would help the average reader to better understand what we are up against with committed Islamist jihadis, if the concept of takiyya were included in a story like this. In fact, to the Western way of thinking and within our ethical framework, deception is deception and it is wrong.
Within the Muslim moral universe, the concept of takiyya, which is religiously-sanctioned deception to protect or promote Islam, is not only moral, it is admirable because it comes from the Koran and experiences of Muhammad himself. This by no means is to excuse the behavior of a character like Moussaoui, but to place that behavior in a context about which most Americans know nothing. As Sun Tzu said many centuries ago, Know thine enemy as you know thyself.
Sincerely,
