This whole fiasco didn’t teach me anything new about Obama. However, I didn’t know anything about Tony Hawk except his name. The fact that he would do this, regardless of permission, tells me enough about him...

I completely agree. No one would allow this in their home, so there’s a reason behind it. I think you’re absolutely right -it’s an “in your face” move. I think it’s directed at Republicans, or more specifically, conservatives, who value the symbols of our country. It’s like the shoes on the desk, IMO - obama and his fans can shrug it off as meaningless but I really don’t believe it is.
