Thursday, June 18, 2009 Why I Love the Guv By Seth Adam Smith
Owing to the fact that we are in the midst of a webathon to benefit Governor Palin, I thought it would be fitting to take some time to reflect upon the woman---and the cause---that we are supporting. While it is important to battle the inaccurate reporting (and flat out lies) leveled against the Governor, it is equally important to promote and publish positive articles and stories about her.
What I've included in this article are just a few of the reasons why I "love the Guv":
All-American-Woman - Governor Palin is a self-made, American woman---a fulfillment of the American dream. She has gone from being a member of the PTA to holding the highest executive position in the state of Alaska. She now Governs the largest and richest state in the Union. All of this has been a result of her work and not political connections. Energy Independence - Governor Palin has substantive and innovative ideas to get America back on its feet and away from our dependence on foreign sources of fuel. From her first appearance on the national stage, she has repeatedly argued for America's energy independence by harnessing Alaska's vast energy supply. This idea is powerful and common sense. Family - She comes from a family just like any other family but unique in their unity. I don't know of many families that can handle a lot of problems at once. Nor do I know of many family that can handle problems and heartache on a national scale while under the microscope of a savage, biased media. Governor Palin's family has not only stuck together through these times, but they're accomplishing so much! Todd competed in this year's Iditarod , Track is serving in Iraq, Bristol graduated from high school while caring for her baby, Willow is taking on late-night talk show hosts (and winning), Piper started her own small business (a lemonade stand) and Trig busy growing up fast (an accomplishment all on its own). On top of that, Governor Palin herself has just secured a landmark $26 billion dollar, natural gas pipeline to the lower 48. Truly, the Palins are an incredible family. Special Needs Children - I was sitting next to my mother when Governor Palin delivered her speech at the RNC. I will never forget it. I watched as my mother's eyes filled up with tears when the Governor made her remarks about families with special needs children. My oldest sister has special needs and getting her care and helping her has been a real challenge for us at times. It was remarkably refreshing and deeply personal to hear from a candidate that was also walking that road with us. The Barracuda - She could school Barry in basketball any day! Praying Palins - It may be a simple thing to you, but it means a lot to me to see our public servants praying to a Power and an Authority higher than themselves. She Hunts! - Much to Ashley Judd's dismay, the Governor is quite proficient in taking down moose and other staple foods in Alaska. But after further consideration, I can see why this would be scary for Democrats...after all, if she can field dress a moose, a donkey should be easy prey! She Doesn't Quit - Of all the things that I have admired about Governor Palin, the thing that amazes me the most has been the fact that she simply doesn't quit. She continues to work hard for the benefit of Alaska and America (not for herself or for her party). She campaigned hard and then went right back to work. She hasn't let the negativity (on all sides) get to her. She keeps moving forward.
...and that's the kind of person I am PROUD to support.
But what about you? Why are your proud to support her? Why do you "love the Guv?" What I've written is like the tip of an iceberg from Glacier Bay National Park! Please write your own reasons for supporting the Governor and then go out and do it by contributing to the Alaska Fund Trust, making phone calls, writing emails or encouraging others to do the same.
Don't just talk the talk, but walk the walk!
A) She belives a lot of what I believe
B) She doesn't back down like 99% of Republicans do
C) People I hate are constantly attacking her
D) She is hot.

Owing to the fact that we are in the midst of a webathon to benefit Governor Palin, I thought it would be fitting to take some time to reflect upon the woman-—and the cause-—that we are supporting. While it is important to battle the inaccurate reporting (and flat out lies) leveled against the Governor, it is equally important to promote and publish positive articles and stories about her.
What I’ve included in this article are just a few of the reasons why I “love the Guv”:
All-American-Woman - Governor Palin is a self-made, American woman-—a fulfillment of the American dream. She has gone from being a member of the PTA to holding the highest executive position in the state of Alaska. She now Governs the largest and richest state in the Union. Energy Independence - Governor Palin has substantive and innovative ideas to get America back on its feet and away from our dependence on foreign sources of fuel. From her first appearance on the national stage, she has repeatedly argued for America’s energy independence by harnessing Alaska’s vast energy supply. This idea is powerful and common sense.
Family - She comes from a family just like any other family but unique in their unity. I don’t know of many families that can handle a lot of problems at once. Nor do I know of many family that can handle problems and heartache on a national scale while under the microscope of a savage, biased media. Governor Palin’s family has not only stuck together through these times, but they’re accomplishing so much! The Barracuda - She could school Barry in basketball any day!
Praying Palins - It may be a simple thing to you, but it means a lot to me to see our public servants praying to a Power and an Authority higher than themselves.

Don’t just talk the talk, but walk the walk!
I choose B 100%, the rest is just nice but politically irrelevant topping. : )
Because the media hates her..........
Welcome.
Paragraphs are our friends.
And not a comment about federal spending and deficits, or the economy? (Today’s No. 1 issue)
If I were trying to advance the strongest case for Palin, I would make that the first bullet point, and leave out most of the childrens’ biographies.
But why would you VOTE for her.
Here is my number one reason.....to me more important than the issues or her competence........ SHE CAN BE TRUSTED WITH POWER.
Because the media fears her.
I also love her because as Dennis Miller so eloquently put it, "She bugs all the right people". :)
I wish that Sarah were in the White House right now.
LOL. Touche!
ditto.
Same thing..
Collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to produce ferocity toward those who are not regarded as members of the herd. Bertrand Russell
I love Sister Sarah because as I have always said, She is one of us and notr one of them.
barbra ann
Right on. Love her for many reasons, and would confidently trust her with power. She serves “with a servant’s heart.”
Oh, I do love the good Guv.
Same here.
Only figure in politics (no pun intended) I would actually work for to try and elect. The rest of them, on both sides of the aisle, can go pound sand. I hope the next couple of years pass quickly, and there’s still something to save by the time we get there.
Because she’s going to kick Obamadinejad’s ass.
In his WSJ article drawing parallels between Maggie Thatcher and Palin, John O'Sullivan quoted playwright and former Thatcher speechwriter Ronnie Millar:
She may be depressed, ill-dressed and having a bad hair day, but when the curtain rises, out onto the stage she steps looking like a billion dollars. That's the mark of a star, dear boy. They rise to the big occasions.O'Sullivan then said Palin also had that "mark of a star". It's something that cannot be taught.

She supports our military not our enemies:

She looks great:

She embodies what any red blooded American male likes to see in his wife, sister, daughter, you name it:

She is hated by the left because they are jealous of a certain infant with Downs syndrome who receives more love from his mother than will ever receive from theirs:
“SHE CAN BE TRUSTED WITH POWER”
There you have it.
“Because the media hates her....”
“Because the media fears her....”
The media tried a preemtive strike on her. They ran interference for the kenyan kid and the retard from Delaware. I don’t care who is is, if the state controlled media hates/fears/trys to destroy them, I’m with them. The other side of the coin is that whoever they champion, I will be against. They became stooges for klintonev in 92 and went totally out the window for the kenyan. Easy to judge who is good for our country based on the state run media.
