A riot is an ugly thing.... and that is why we need one right now!

Was the American Revolution a violent protest?

However, I don’t think it’s wisdom to get unnecessarily on a crazier list.

Agreed. I, also, think we are already on many lists for simply posting here. I don't really care about that anymore. But it seems to me that there are more and more polls and blogs and websites looking for hits only to collect IPs and opinions in order to build a case against conservatives. I see it in the kinds of vanities posted and questions asked by newer FReepers too. I sense a large increase in information gathering through leading questions as opposed to true personal interest and general conversation.

INDEED. I've noticed that, too. Standard intel gathering, it seems to me . . . and perhaps then some. I hope the mods are paying extra attention to such things.

Thankfully, God is my refuge . . . regardless of the fiery furnaces involved.

Thanks for the reality check. God be with you and yours.

No. A violent protest is uncalled for.

When time comes for violence, ie out and out revolt, time for protest is past. Guerilla/military operations are the ONLY answer.

You know, Quix, I don't care what lists I'm on anymore.

I see MY country going over the cliff full tilt, I see my children and grandchildren being paupered by a man that has no business being in the WH, I see private companies being commandeered by the federal government, I see government spending (on all levels) outstripping ANYTHING that current level taxes can pay, I see assaults on liberties and rights occurring on a daily basis, and I don't see any way out at the moment.

Let them put me on a list.

Maybe when they come for me my stand will be what wakes the country up. At least that's my hope.

There wasn’t a he** yes, so I just voted yes. 95 % yes when I voted.

This answer, and others like it on this thread, are simply, well, wrong. A revolution is a violent protest. However, if the poll was in relation to Iran, the protesters there were mostly peaceful, and still are, until the Basij started shooting them for simply being in the street.

Answer such as yours seem to me to be an attempt at ass kissing in case some leftard is listening. Don't worry, if you are on FR, you are on their list, so you might as well tell it the way you see it, not how you think the anonymous listeners want to hear it. They don't care what you say, you are a conservative, a believer in freedom, therefore you are the enemy of the left.

If you believe me to be an arse kisser, there is nothing I can do here to change your mind. Never the less, you are wrong.

You apparently don’t understand that once you invoke violence you will lose, UNLESS you are willing to do ANYTHING it takes to WIN. That will require full on armed rebellion and a very long, bloody war. Until there’s a whole lot more folks ready to do that, violence at a protest will only get the protestors KILLED. Make no mistake about that.

I can certainly identify with your feelings.

I would, however, like to be viable for others . . . in behalf of helping others . . . as long as possible.

Remember the three boxes for redress of grievances: The soap box, the ballot box and the ammo box?

Protests should be non-violent. They come from the “soap box” part of politics. There is no place for violence in them.

At one time there was a time for violent protest but ever since the civil war all protest has been deemed sedition by the power in Washington so even if it ever came to us taking back the country the powers in Washington would see it as an act of treason. That is how Ol’Abe painted the southern patriots as treasonous dogs.
