True Colors
Vanity | 6-17-09 | Michael P. Tremoglie

But I see your true colors Shining through Cyndi Lauper, 1984

President Barack Hussein Obama received the votes of the Howard Dean wing of the Democratic Party, the fringe leftists, because they thought he was going to enact their vision of “civil liberties.” They believed he would undo what they said were the Bush’s authoritarian policies and hypocrisy.

So far during his short tenure in office President Barack Hussein Obama has:

• Continued the Bush’s policy of invoking “state secrets” to dismiss a lawsuit about a CIA extraordinary rendition case.

• Continued Bush’s policy of not allowing prisoners at Bagram Air Base access to U.S. courts.

• Continued Bush’s policy not participating in the “Durban II” U.N. racism conference.

• Continued Bush’s policy regarding missing White House emails.

• Continued Bush’s policy regarding publication of the White House visitors list.

• Continued Bush’s policy of sending more troops to Afghanistan.

• Continued Bush’s policy of objecting to the release of videotaped interrogations

Yet, despite the continuance of Bush administration policies that caused soi disant civil libertarians to call President Bush a “Nazi” and antiwar protesters to call him a “Chickenhawk,” the American left has been silent.

Indeed, the leftists have been mute despite the fact that the Obama administration has committed sins far more egregious than anything their limited collective intellect could accuse the Bush administration of committing.

If anything, President Obama has provided more fodder for the “Nazi” appellation. The Obama administration’s Justice Department has:

• Suddenly and inexplicably declined to pursue legal proceedings against an organization charged with voter intimidation during the last presidential election. They did this AFTER they had already won their case in court.

Members of the organization, the New Black Panther Party for Self- Defense, which has already been designated a terrorist organization by the liberal Southern Poverty Law Center, were stationed outside of a poll in Philadelphia uttering racist slurs and threatening voters and those assisting voters according to court records.

• Suddenly and inexplicably declined to pursue legal action against a campaign contributor of Obama’s. Yet, the White House ordered the firing of an Inspector General (IG) for the Corporation for National and Community Service who was pursuing action against the Obama campaign contributor.

The IG led a 2008 investigation into allegations of misused taxpayer funds distributed by AmeriCorps to the St. HOPE Academy of Sacramento, founded in 1989 by an Obama supporter. The IG $850,000 in AmeriCorps funds were misused.

The politicization of the Justice Department and ignoring election campaign violations does not stop with the Obama administration. It seems the leftist media is complicit as well.

Last March, I was the first to report (while working at the now defunct Philadelphia Bulletin) that the New York Times declined to publish information it received about the Obama campaign giving donor lists to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). This organization has multiple accusations and convictions for voter registration fraud.

The New York Times did not publish this information because, according to court and congressional testimony, they said this information could have a negative effect on the Obama campaign. The editors were quoted as saying it was a “game changer.”

Also, President Obama has inadvertently revealed that important members of the Democratic Party – which considers taxing Americans a sacred rite – do not pay their taxes.

The public has learned, albeit grudgingly from the mainstream media, that important members of the Democratic Party have not paid their income taxes. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, former Democrat Senate Leader and Health and Human Services nominee Tom Daschle, Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., are among those who did not pay the taxes they should have paid.

Mr. Obama’s rhetoric was that of one who promised “hope and change.” He promised transparency in government.

What we have now is obfuscation, unethical conduct and refusal to prosecute illegalities that involve their political allies. They have refused to prosecute corruption. Their party has shown disdain for the Constitution and the American people.

However, there is a silver lining. The hypocrisy and ruthlessness of the American liberal can no longer be concealed by lofty rhetoric.

President Obama has divulged their true colors.

Do the research.
This has been the Dem party since the late '60s.

How come you haven’t done anything about it then? Rather than call me out for being ignorant, why don’t you do something about it.

Or is it that your just trying to show everyone how smart you are?

Excuse me?
Unless you are the author of the article I wasn't calling you out for being ignorant.
It's fairly common to make remarks to the author, not the poster.
If you took it to be to you personally, I apologize.

As far as doing something about it, do you have a plan?

My only plan is to vote for conservative, not necessarily Republican, politicians.

Yes I’m the author of the article. Isn’t that what “vanity” means?

Well maybe you ought to do more than just vote.Since you’re so free with your criticism maybe you should be more active.

OK, so you write this like it's fresh news that the Dem party is as corrupt as Caligula. Only since Obomba took office.
I point out that if you do the research this is nothing new. This has been going on in the Dem party since the late '60s.

You then attack me as being apathetic
I have been to a number of FReeps, been to a number of FReeper gatherings, been present at TEA parties, stay current on events happening, around the world as well as in the USA, make a living for myself and family, and use my voting rights.
And yet, I seem to be apathetic.

Maybe you should save your emnity for the Dems and not someone who agrees with what you're saying.

I will apologize if it sounded like I was denigrating you or your knowledge. Such was not my meaning.

My point was that this is nothing new.

I didn’t write as fresh news. It was an opinion piece posted to the bloggers/personal section.

Now there are elements of news in the piece, inasmuch as I enunciate the actions of the Obama admin. that have occurred within the past five months.

However, you act as if this is all well known anyway. You go even further by saying this type of behavior by Democrats is well known.

So if what you say is true then I should’ve never bothered to:

1- Break the story about the NY Times spiking the information they received about ACORN and Obama. Even though it went national, being cited by Fox News et al, you’re saying I shouldn’t have bothered?

Did you criticize Fox News?

2- According to you I shouldn’t have bothered writing about Ira Einhorn who was charged with murder the day of the 3 Mile Island incident. Even though Limbaugh read my entire piece on his show you’re saying I shouldn’t have bothered?

Did you criticize Limbaugh?

I don’t understand your logic - or more precisely - lack thereof.

I

What, exactly, have I done to offend you?
I never insinuated in any of my posts that you should not have written an opinion piece on Dems corruption, or on anything else for that matter.
I only pointed out that this is a practice of Dems since the late '60s.

You have taken offence where none was meant.
I was trying to point out, for the sake of other readers, that this has been a pattern for many years in the Dem party.

I will amend my first post.

Do the research, folks.
This has been the Dem party since the late '60s.
