In the same way, Barack Obama will forever be known as the President who gave our country the "Proclamation of Gender Equity", and in so doing guaranteed Americans would once and for all be truly equal. So.. does this mean they all shut up and go about their business form now on? Can we dump the gay pride crap and the fourth grade gay awareness training now that they are all equal to something? "Proclamation of Gender Equity" I would expect a President to have a better grasp of English grammar than that displayed here. Gender refers to grammar, not the sex of a human.
The grammatically correct wording would be "Proclamation of Sex Equity".
