So for weeks we on the right have been trying to get the folks who voted for Obama to see that they have been played. My conservative friends and I have been posting stories on Obama’s hypocrisy, flip-flops and truth-stretches at a really alarming rate.
But today is different. Today it seems like everyone right of center is completely up in arms about Obama making a speech to the Islamic world from Egypt. Well, everyone but me.
I’m not bothered about the speech primarily because Obama told us he was going to do this if he got elected. It was almost a mantra with Obama, over and over saying he was going to start a dialogue with our adversaries by "reaching out to them". In fact, this may very well be the first time in recent memory where a politician said he was going to “reach out” to people and actually did it!
I’m a little perturbed at the content of his speech, but, again, we really shouldn’t be surprised at the content because…. it’s the same content from his campaign! Obama campaigned on fundamentally changing America. His wife said that once Barack was nominated, she could finally be proud of her country. Well, folks, that meant up until the point that Barack was nominated, she was ashamed of her country! Now Barack gets to go and apologize for all of our past sins. Michelle must just be beaming with pride for her country now. Personally, I’m hoping he gets out of the confessional, knocks it off with the speeches, and maybe spends some time reading. Reading legislation that is – hopefully before he signs any more.
I do agree with the conservative intelligencia on one point. It is really, really annoying that during the campaign Barack just had a silly middle name that we weren't allowed to speak lest we be branded racist and his dad was an agnostic, but now that he has been elected it is hip to have Islamic roots and experiences. (We’ve come too faaaaar is now bouncing around in my head).
However, if he can get a majority of the Muslims to soften up on America, if his trip over there can lessen some tension at the negotiating tables, if his addiction to bringing up the past sins of America can somehow turn the hearts of those people to want to stop killing us, then, well, he will have accomplished precisely nothing.
They all live in dictatorships. It doesn’t matter if the people living over there like us or not, the guys running those countries, you know the ones with the guns, just see a weak leader they can treat like one of their wives. So, what's there to get all worked up about?

Obama's facts were wrong...even when he talked about the Islamic accomplishments. He again apologized for America, making us look weak in the eyes of friends and enemies.
He is trying to placate and cozy up to them all...and they will view that as weakness too.
The problem is this...your last paragraph says it. The leaders will view it as weakness and they will get the idea that the can treat the US just like you talked about...and that will lead to more deaths of US soldiers and civilians, both aborad, and IMHO right here.
In addition, he is creating a very serious and dangerous situation with Israel by not backing up Israel against Iran. Iran has no incentive to slow down (no fear of us). This makes it much more likely that Israel will try and stop them (I would) and that will also lead to a broader war.

You may be. I am disgusted. Everyone else I spoke to was sickened. His praise of all things Islamic and continued inability to identify anything good in American history (other than his election) is absolutely disgusting. He may have said he would do this, but the act is no less a disaster. We will be dealing with the consequences of this day for many years to come.

For the record, I watched the first two sections of the speech on youtube. Section three of the sequence was missing and I didn’t want to skip to section four. Based on the first two sections of the speech only (about the first 20 minutes), I found the speech to be helpful, positive and nothing to be up in arms about (of course I had to keep telling myself to be objective and to subdue the ‘I hate that smug S.O.B.’ demon inside of me). ...just trying to be honest here.

Chris, you aren’t upset that he honored his promise to the Muslim world but went back on all of these campaign promises to the American people like:

Broken promise No. 4: Hiatus on 401(k) penalties
Broken promise No. 5: ‘No jobs for lobbyists’

Broken promise No. 7: Bring troops home in 16 months
Broken promise No. 8: Sign ‘Freedom of Choice Act’
Broken promise No. 9: $4,000 college credit
Broken promise No. 10: Transparency
And on and on...
I am very upset that he cares more about what the world thinks of him than how he can protect the American people.
It’s amazing that Obama would praise Islam for its tolerance of other religion, in Egypt, where Christians are forbidden from holding any government jobs.
Oh, if they send him FOCA, he'll sign that for sure. I hope there are enough senators to stop that murderous piece of legislation.

No, you are not. As soon as I heard that fool say “ ah salam alekum” or however you spell it, I had a fit. I said look at that a$$hole showing his true colors. It rolled off of his tongue better than the “Star Spangled Banner” ever did. I had to turn the television, it pained me so much.

BTW, I hated Barry's speech because he makes us look weak and apologetic for our own existence. He really shouldn't be apologizing for policies that didn't work out for the best. He to will have policies that won't work.
