A Corrupt and Slobbering Newsmedia Fawns All Over Sonia Sotomayor!

Long gone are the days of Edward R. Murrow, Charles Collingswood, Douglass Edwards, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Frank Reynolds and Howard K. Smith. These men were true “Broadcast Journalists.” They understood all to well the responsibility that rested on their broad shoulders.

You didn’t have to tell Murrow or Brinkley, two men of great honor and distinction, that your job is to report the news, “straight down the middle, and leave your editorial comments out of your copy.” As Americans, we didn’t know if these men were Democrats or Republicans. It wasn’t our business: And they did not wear their political affiliation on their sleeves the way today’s “Tabloid Reporters Do.”

Not only are today’s tabloid reporters brazen as all get out, they will spit in your face, figuratively speaking!

If your views are antithetical to their politics, they will go out of their way to “Destroy You.”

Look at what happened to Judge Robert Bork and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Bork was an “Originalist.” In other words, this former Federal Judge believed in following the Constitution and the law. Imagine that?

No, Judge Bork didn’t think the Supreme Court was a place where “Policy Was Made.” This was a man who looked at the law in order to make his decisions. That wasn’t good enough for the socialists, who controlled the U.S. Senate at the time of Judge Bork’s confirmation hearings. They literally, “Raked This Man Over The Coals.”

Judge Bork never made it out of committee. We hear a lot of talk about Barack Hussein-Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor; and her “Oh, So Tough Upbringing.”

However, what about the “Tougher Upbringing” that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas had? The corrupt media glossed over Thomas’ hard life.

As Americans, we didn’t know if these men were Democrats or Republicans.

When your choice was CBS, NBC, ABC or PBS, old style journo's could make an attempt at impartiality without losing access to top officials.

In the present age of so many news sources, a journo that reports negatively can risk losing access. With lost access comes lower ratings and unemployment.

There is no quicker recipe for revolt than having an un-elected ... selected body passing highly unpopular laws illegally. At that point there will be no constitution and NO HOLDS BARRED

I was shocked by this article this morning. It’s from the AP and in the Seattle Times. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2009279474_soto30.html

we must remember that we are dealing with socialist Democrats and their pals in the corrupt U.S. media. They are the ones who get to label who is a racist and who is a good guy.

Just wait until more and more Americans are forced to see the truth when the excrement hits their fans. Time to ante-up the revolution against these soviet-style propagandist tyrants.

That has never bothered them when the incumbent administration has been Republican.

You need another theory.

Not true in the case of Murrow and Frank Reynolds -- the latter was a jerk. Murrow invented issue advocacy and slanted reporting in broadcast journalism. He could arch an eyebrow and spin a quote with the best of them. You never had to guess where Murrow was on an issue. That's why liberal journos lionize him so.

I'll give the author Howard K. Smith and David Brinkley, though. I'd lose all the money I had in the bank, trying to guess which way Brinkley was voting.

You mean they raked him over the spit and threw live coals in his face?

I'd believe either one.

Good article.

[Article quote]

With Hispanics a growing voting bloc, and ethnic sensitivities high, few are willing to be as blunt as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who said of her comment that a Latina woman would rule more wisely than a white man: "New racism is no better than old racism."

Newt nailed it. As usual.

Also from your linked article, reader commments on "discrimination":

"As an African American woman whoes roots go back several generations in America, I say that turn about is fair play!"

I guess she'd support setting up a great, big slave-auction for white people, and maybe an Auschwitz where the excess and unusable "white problem" population can be cremated for all time.

No new theory required because should a Republican blacklist a journo, the chorous of confederated harpies from tv, print, internet and Congress will simultaneously erupt with deafening 24/7 cries of Nixonian "enemies lists".

I only read about US politics from British news sources. They still have real journalists.
