Why A Revitalized GOP Is Essential For The Survival Of The West
May 22,2009 | Welcome2thejungle

Posted on 05/22/2009 12:27:58 PM PDT by Welcome2thejungle

After listening to former Vice President Dick Cheney speak out on national security issues these past few days, I am reminded why I am a Republican and why it is absolutely critical the Party rejuvenates after two successive election defeats. Given the state of his health, it is highly unlikely that Cheney will run for president in 2012. But if he did, he would have my unqualified support. He has been spot on with everything he has said and he has not flinched at refuting the obviously false claims, assertions, and accusations coming from the current Administration. Vice President Cheney is actually showing us the way and leading us out of darkness.

The Republican Party IS the Party of national security. It always has been and always will be. BHO has already started cutting back on defense spending, cutting back on critically needed missile defense systems, bowing before Saudi monarchs, listened to anti-American tirades delivered by Marxist dictators, closing down terrorist detention centers, etc. With the exception of Sen. Joe Lieberman, I know of no prominent Democrat who wants to win the War on Terrorism and defeat our enemies. The entire Democrat Party has a pre 9/11 mindset. They can never be trusted to defend the West.

While the Republican Party has a less than perfect track record on the issue of illegal immigration, it is least vastly superior to the Democrat Party which favors open borders and a lax do-nothing approach which is of course in there interests as a way of padding their votes and voter registration numbers. The Republicans instinctively know that a nation that cannot even manage and control its own borders will cease being a nation and have always favored tighter border security, fences, and more manpower at the border.

While the Democrat Party is the party of legalizing drugs, abortion on demand, and same sex marriage, the Republican Party has always advocated the Judeo-Christian system of values which are the bedrock of Western Civilization including the sanctity of innocent human life and traditional family structures including and most importantly traditional marriage.

The Democrat Party is the Party of big government spending, programs, and yes--Socialism--there is even an organization within the Democrat Party, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), which supports this goal. It is true, the Democrats wish to remold America much as most of Europe is today with its bloated bureaucracies, insanely generous social welfare programs, six weeks vacations, and emasculated military establishments.

The Republican Party has traditionally been the Party of fiscal restraint and responsibility--it is time we get back to our roots--if wish to refurbish our tarnished brand image. While the Democrats have always been the Party of big city machines and labor unions, the Republicans were always the Party of the small businessman, gun owners, people of faith, patriots, the military, law enforcement, farmers, ranchers, and entrepreneurs. The Democrat Party advocates Socialism, we advocate limited government, free markets, free trade, and Capitalism.

While the Democrats pick liberal activist judges who like to legislate and make their own policies from the bench, the Republicans support strict adherence to the Constitution and the appointment of judges who interpret the law, not make the law.

The Republican Party always supported equality under the law and equal opportunity for blacks and all Americans. We parted company (and rightfully so) with the Civil Rights Movement when it was hijacked by the Johnny-come-latelies in the Democrat Party in the 1960s. Since then, the Democrats have changed the concept of equal rights to the concept of special rights for their client constituency voting blocs. We will have nothing to do with this. We believe in the vision of a color blind society where a man is judged on the content of his character not the pigmentation of his skin.

We are the Party of lower taxes on income, estates, dividends, capital gains, and corporate taxes. This stimulates the economy far more than federal pork barrel spending programs and it encourages job creation, capital formation, competition and robust economic growth. While GWB learned from the mistake his father made on raising taxes, he had no discipline on the spending and fiscal restraint side of the equation.

THIRD PARTIES ARE NOT THE ANSWER. They never have been and never will be. Conservative third parties will only succeed in siphoning off votes which would otherwise go to Republican candidates. The Libertarian Party supports open borders, weakening our military, same sex marriage, and legalizing abortion, drugs, and prostitution. That hardly sounds conservative to me. The American Independent Party is virtually irrelevant and has never won an election and never will. The Reform Party even with the backing of billionaire Ross Perot has had its day in the sun is now headed toward irrelevancy along with the rest of the third party movements.

There will always be gadflies and iconoclasts among our conservative ranks who take delight in making potshots at the GOP. It's easy to kick 'em while they're down. Me, I'm under no illusions. We must go to work, roll up our sleeves, and take back our Party and rebuild it from the ground up. It's hard and tedious work at times, but it must be done. The Republican Party, like it or not, is the only institution which can stop the agenda of BHO and the Democratic Socialists of America Congress. Third parties aren't going to do it. They will only serve to divide and distract. Conservatives have taken control of the Republican Party before (1964, 1980, 1994) and we can do it again. Our Party Platform is rock solid conservative. We just need to find qualified candidates who will live up to it and abide by it.

The Republican Party is a lot better place now that Sen. Specter has left and Dick Cheney is now at bat. Cheney really made feel like a Republican this week and a Conservative as well. I am now convinced, more than ever, that a revitalized GOP is essential for the survival of our country as we know and it is the last best hope for free people and Western Civilization as well.

Sorry, no one is pure enough, even Cheney supported his gay daughter’s “marriage” (bastard!) The Flying Monkeys will be here in a second to tell you about it.

Conservatism must have a baseline.
Until the GOP can agree on just
exactly what that baseline might
be, they will continue to be divided
by their petty and “cultic” back
alley spats.

Our security is through strength not surrender.
Our prosperity is from the private sector not the public sector.
Our truths are self evident not relative.

...THE MAIN THING IS THE MAIN THING...

**************************************

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS
This information comes from the National Republican Committee
VFW - U.S.M.C. Clay Strombeck Black Hills, South Dakota

1. Copy this and give it to your liberal friends.
2. Ask them to read it with you right then and there.
3. Take them somewhere to sit down. 9 out of 10 will
discover they are actually conservative.

DEFENSE - Republicans believe that the only way to preserve
world peace is to have a powerful, prepared defense. The Republican
Party and its leaders are strongly opposed to domestic and international
terrorism, and are committed to a policy that will make no concessions
to terrorists. The Republican Party believes in working diplomatically
to help resolve dangerous regional conflicts and has achieved a reduction
of nuclear weapons. Defense Peace and freedom can be only achieved though
strength. History has shown, painfully, that weakness and vacillation
invite aggression. Democrats administrations have cut America’s
defenses. Relying on talk and good intentions to preserve world peace,
Democrats advocate sublimation of our sovereign interest to the authority
of the United Nations.

ECONOMY - The Republican Party believes that the free enterprise
system is the key to individual and national prosperity. Republicans
seek to protect the free enterprise system against unwarranted government
regulation, believe that “individuals shall prosper.” The
Democratic Party has, time and again, encouraged budget deficits and
continues to fight plans to balance the federal budget, call for reducing
the federal deficit through reductions in defense and tax increases,
believe that “government shall provide...”

BUDGET - Republicans believe the family is the foundations of our
social order; the school of democracy, believe it is important that
we reflect upon and consider carefully the impact of government
actions upon family life. Democrats support efforts to make federal
programs and benefits available.. same sex couples.

CRIME - Republicans believe the first obligation of government is
to protect the lives and property of its citizens. Both adults &
juveniles must learn that actions have consequences & that they
are responsible for their behavior. Democrats often vote to water down
crime fighting provisions and support endless appeal processes.

THE ENVIRONMENT - Republicans Republican Party recognizes the importance
of a safe and clean environment, and believes that the environmental
concerns must be balanced against economic growth and energy development.
Republicans emphasize the free market, exploration of new energy
stores, and an environmentally friendly approach to bringing new energy
resources to the American people. Democrats also recognizes the
importance of safe and clean environment, but lacks concern for the
economic factors involved and the jobs that regulations cost. Democrats
emphasize conservation to solve the energy problems and place environment
over development which results in continued reliance on foreign oil.
br /> REGULATION - Republicans The Republican Party strives to cut excessive
regulation, decentralize the federal government and return power to
state and local governments. Would exempt small businesses from
regulation wherever feasible. Democrats Democratic policies stifle
business, especially small business, with endless regulation, paperwork
and red tape.

EDUCATION - Republicans believe in local control of school boards, have
advanced the concept of school vouchers allowing parental choice for
lower income families to seek the best school for their children.
Democrats consistently protect the status-quo of our falling educational
system resisting creative efforts to improve opportunities for our children.

POVERTY - Republicans remedying poverty requires that we sustain and
broaden economic recovery, hold families together, get government’s
hand out of their pocketbooks, and restore the work ethic.
Democrats “For some, the goal of independence requires greater
support and assistance from government. We pledge to provide that support.”

WELFARE - Republicans support: able-bodied recipients of welfare to
work, time limits on assistance, incentives to receive schooling or
job training and pursuing” dead-beat dads” for child
support. Democrats vote against requiring recipients to work and time
limits on welfare.

TAXES AND SPENDING - Republicans continue to fight for limits on taxes
and a permanent repeal of the death tax, believe that the
government spending should not grow faster than the ability of citizens
to pay for it. Democrats fight to raise taxes largely to increase the
size of government and their ability to spend. Fiscal restraint is
necessary in families and it must be so in government.

HEALTH CARE - Republicans believe in personal choice, maintaining
quality, guaranteeing access, reducing cost, enhancing flexibility,
ensuring fairness and encouraging individual responsibility.
responsibility. Democrats support forcing Americans to purchase
health insurance through government alliances, massive new payroll
taxes, health entitlements and government controls which would lead
to rationing of health care and the quality of medical care in this
country.

DID YOU KNOW? As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall,
right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten
Commandments! *** As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge
oak doors have the Ten Command-ments engraved on each lower portion of
each door. *** As you walk up the steps to the building which houses
the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row
of the world’s law givers and each one is facing one in the middle
who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... it is Moses and he
is holding the Ten Commandments!

The need is to understand what Obama is doing, playing to the ignorant masses and figure out how to counter that...

We have a voice and a strategy,
we just don’t have a messenger.

The MSM will not allow it.

“The West” is an invented concept. “The West” brought us Socialism, Communism, and Fascism. Why not focus on AMERICA rather than “The West.”

I still think that John Bolton is a person that Americans should watch. He has a nasty habit of telling it like it is and he does not apologize for being an American.

John Bolton may just be the man to carry the water...by the time zero is in office for a while longer his antics will not be tolerated by most and plain speaking John Bolton can bring home the bacon. Only union pukes and career folks on the gummint mammary will be zero’s only support. Trust me the younger generation that is working is going to mighty upset that their lifestyles have changed in a year or so when we are looking at interest rates that may make the carter years seem tame in comparison.
